Very bad advice. Not every copyright allows this, and there are companies/individuals who make a living out of copyright claims.

Don't use them, google hates them. Better is to pay some services that has 50k photos in their inventory and those are not copyrighted

Under International Copyright Law, you can still use somebody else's copyrighted work even if your website is commercial.

I know this is shocking to a lot of people, but it shouldn't be.

This is a well-established exception to the general rule that only people who either own the copyrighted work or have the license have the right to make copies or distribute it.

So how do you get around the law? You get around it by using what is called "fair use."

Suppose your website is full of commentary where you can offer your opinion about something.

In that case, it's okay to use another person's work as part of your opinion but only up to a certain point.

Usually, you can't use the entire work but only a part of it.

Your website also should be primarily about commentary instead of being filled with ads.

Another way to get around this is to use parody to make fun of somebody else's copyrighted work.

You can post excerpts or bits and pieces of their work and comment that way.

There are many ways to get around laws that protect copyrighted images.

But you have to have the right type of website for it.

Photos that are in the public domain are not protected by copyright, have no limitations on use, and no fees for any type of usage. However, it is better to use free images

Try to use royalty-free pictures or pay for the pictures, otherwise, you might come across copyright issues which you'd better to avoid.

+ be sure to read the licensing terms of the picture you are taking {if not your own picture} (which should be available on that particular page). You might be allowed to use the picture only under certain condition. Reading the fine-print matters a lot here.

Another solid piece of crappy advice. What you are talking about is derivative work. People get sued for that worldwide, everyday may be. Can you avoid getting caught? Yeah sure. That's not the point though.

You're right Gogol : it was clear for me because I'm really aware of IP issues because of my formers jobs.

Either give proper credit to the owner of the image or use similar stock photos.
