[Journey] Making my first 1,000 on Upwork

That's how to do it.
Keep it up and soon you'll be top rated.

Getting disappointed day by day. Right now I don't have any badge and no GSC score showing on the profile that might causing me not to get jobs I think. FYI Optimized profile properly and only bidding where not many people are bidding still no responses. Also had interviews with four people but all of those people ghosted me. They end up not hiring anyone for all those projects. Observation is Indians with $5/hr rate get most of the jobs. Looking for suggestions regarding proposal writing or anything.Thank you

Question: Since.. I am a Rising Talent now. Does things change after being in the Rising Talent criteria? I would like to know people’s opinion on it. Did you start getting invites? Or did you start getting more jobs when sending proposals? I don’t know what to expect

In my experience the Rising Talent means nothing, I didn't see any benefit.
I even lost it at some point.

When I started to get tons of invites I had no badges. It's just about cracking the algorithm.

Now I'm Top Rated and I believe this is a solid badge, it gives more legitimacy in front of clients' eyes.

In the end, though, what matters is proof, reviews, good proposals

90% of jobs posted there don't turn into a hire.
I've make the math on this point.

Anyway, it's no a reason to give up.
Nor it is surrender at the indian competition.

If you're starting, be sure to have portfolio pieces, apply to as many jobs as you can, even the tiny ones.

You do SEO, which is number based, so you should have case studies to show off as proof of skills.

Send more proposals.
Buy connects.

Check youtube videos about how to optimize profile/write good proposals.
This made a huge difference for me.

You got 4 interviews which means you can get to that phase.
You need to understand what is missing to close a job.

It's not an easy process, freelancing is an inner journey, we have to face our fears and limits to improve.

+1 on this.

Although I’m new but my tip is to only send proposal to jobs which has verified payment method of the client and atleast a 70% hire rate. I don’t apply to jobs with no payment method verified.

Hi.
This is a very small goal, but I’m very excited about it. I’m going to make my first 1K on upwork. I do Facebook/Google ads, Ecom and Email Marketing using Klaviyo

I have made my account few days back, and I would like to thank @stepdub as his journey of 150,000 motivated me alot.

Current Status:
Landed on my first $5 job
View attachment 178457So you help people to create Facebook/ Google ads, who make payments for the ads to run ? or you just give them keywords to target based on their services/products ?

Thank you.

I've never been a rising talent. My job success score right now is 72. I get one invite per day on average.

Sometimes the invites are not relevant to the work I do. I still accept them - because Upwork rewards you with free connects (10 to 20 at a time) for responding to job invites

I gathered 150 connects this month for free doing this. I'm planning to use multiple dummy client profiles to send me job invites, so I can respond at scale and gather more connects.

Update: Got my job success score now. It’s 100% I hope that I will maintain it.
