Your Tips For Maximising Landing Page Quality Score?

I've come to accept that Google's Quality Score is very much hit or miss. Some of my websites are on theme yet get a worse Quality Score than very poor websites and I'm at a loss as to why.

What would be your best tips to get a good quality score, especially landing page, where the Quality Score gets 9/10 as soon as you add the keyword and ad(s) to the AdGroup.

At the moment I'm planning on adding say half a dozen websites into their own adgroup - bidding on the same keyword and then waiting to see which gets the best QS out of the 6.

having a physical address and phone number (even if they aren't real )

add your target keyword to the page title, h1, url, throughout the landing page copy

The thing is, these are the things I make sure of, yet still, for my main keyword I'm getting a quality score of 6-7/10 which isn't good enough.

One thing I didn't consider however was site speed. The main competitor has a much larger bank balance than me, but from how I understand it, appearing in the top 3 listings over the main listings, is more down to CTR and Quality Score than it is Max Bid. His Ad is also awful, but he's always there.

That's why I had the idea of making several websites, putting them in their own Adgroup and bidding the same for each one of the keyword instance. Then waiting to see which one Google selects as they will pick the one with the better Quality Score.

Sometimes starting a new ad group with just phrase and exact match keywords only in there can help you get a much higher CTR which has a big impact on QS

Also, I'm pretty sure you can't send traffic to more than one site inside an adwords account

Of course you can. You can't have more than 1 website in an AdGroup but inside an account you can have as many as you wish.

As for Match Types, I split them down into Campaigns, so all my [Exact] go into their own campaigns. It's much easier to track and much more organised and write Ads for.

Destination URL has to match the same domain as the display URL and vice versa.

Adwords stopped having more than 1 domain in the same Adgroup last year.

So I can send traffic to one site about dog collars dogcollarsite.com then setup another campaign sending traffic to weddingmcsite.com within the same account?

Of course you can. You can't have more than 1 website in an AdGroup but inside an account you can have as many as you wish.

Interesting. The person who always appear in the top sponsored yellow shading, links to his Twitter, Squidoo plus a Facebook Group. You think this is helping him then?

Am I right in suggesting there wasn't much point making the post then if it's not worth looking at?

Use this in your destination URL hxxp://yoursite.com?keyword=your-keyword, then place this <?php echo str_replace('-', ' ', $_GET['keyword'])?> on your page like you would SEO a page. Title, header, alt tags, h1 tag, <b>, and etc.

Second, below the mix, I randomly rotate three articles. Again these articles have the code above in them.

Google sees each landing page optimized for the exact keyword, with new content that contains that keyword in it for each visit.

Does not work perfect for Broad match obviously because the actual search term may not be the "keyword", but on phrase, and exact it works great for me. I can use keywords that have absolutely nothing to do with what I am marketing and still get 7-10 scores.

Can anyone recommend a LP template that gives really good quality scores? Maybe a WP theme that is made for landing pages that gives a really good product?
