Upwork is a real gold mine and no doubt at all. If you've skills and time, you can make $$$$ easily. I had a journey which was abandoned lately due to my laziness. Good luck to reach your goal soon.

Be consistent and suck it up at first, then it'll be downhill.

It's been more than a month since I sent the last proposal and I'm fully booked until August.
People will start inviting you.

Sending lots of proposals will make the algorithm showing you more often.
My guess is they want really active freelancers to get jobs asap (so they can earn as well), that's why sending a lot of good proposals kind of cracks the algorithm.

Spending $15 on the premium account is good IMHO, you get 80 connects, can see the avg price bid, and, most important, hide your current earnings.

Another thing is starting to aim higher immediately, starting from small jobs is a great strategy but after a couple, it's time to scale.

Good luck man. I remember in 2012-2013 when I've landed my first 5$ Logo Job, it was like I got 1m$

As a tip, upgrade the account to get more connects and strive to get rapidly Top Rated badge (read their TOS) and things will be more financially productive from there.

Got another job for 15$
This is a usual 15$ job but the client has spent 10k on Upwork and I think it will be good if I can get more products from this client. Hence $15 is a really good price to start.

Means nothing about how much they spent.
There are clients with 100k+ and if you check their history out, they have an avg of 5$/hr paid.

Don't make decisions based on "maybe" and "perhaps"
