Did your App get approved?

You'll need to ensure you're using screenshots of the Webapp URL and not just any promotional images.

Amazon are really stringent sometimes and it might take a few goes before it gets approved :)

Amazing share! Gonna try this soon, thanks Azaan :D

Yes, I actually uploaded a screenshot of my website design.

Will play around with the images to see - apparently harder these days to approve i believe

Got approved and the app is live!

However, I got this message:

Your app submission does not meet one or more of our acceptance criteria for some or all targeted devices. Failure reason(s) are listed below:
  • We consider a variety of factors as we evaluate each app, including the customer experience offered on the device and compatibility with the device. While our goal is to offer a broad and compelling assortment of apps to Amazon customers, not all apps available through Amazon Appstore are currently available on Amazon devices.

Not sure what should I change?

It's live, that's important. I checked in the app store. :D

That error just means that your app was not compatible for certain devices :)

Not a big issue and you can just ignore it if you're solely looking for just the backlinks. If you're actually looking to provide functionality, you can change which devices the app is compatible with on the last page of the app submission process. Usually you just have to remove all amazon devices :)

In this post I'll be covering how to get do-follow links from Amazon. The same links that got my journey started.

I first saw this method being discussed here, and I have a lot to owe to @RealDaddy . He's a true man who, rather than get angered by competition, encouraged it and took the time to help.

There are definitely a lot of other marketplaces you can try, all with varying difficulty and success rates. Amazon is amongst the easiest for beginners and has some of the highest approval rates.

Things to know

Before getting started, you should know that these links are by no means going to propel your site to the top of the SERPs. They're great for new sites and for anyone looking to diversify their link profile.

The apps you publish are usually syndicated throughout all regions of the marketplace, at least in the case of Amazon and Google.

If your website has a certificate from Lets Encrypt, you will not be able to use your site URL as the web app link (but can still get a backlink). This is a real bummer but there are ways to get through, either by using another domain as the main focus of the app, or condensing your content into a simple site which you can upload as a ZIP.

Where will my links be placed?
Your links will be placed on the following domains:

Here is an example link:

For other links you simply have to change the TLD and that is where the link will be located. For example, amazon.ca :

Creating the link

- Head over to this URL https://developer.amazon.com/apps-and-games and create a developer account.

- Head to https://developer.amazon.com/apps-and-games/console/apps/list.html and click on 'Add a new app' in the top right, and select 'Mobile Web'

- Complete the basic app details. The best category to choose is 'References -> Guides and How To's' in my experience.

Example:
View attachment 178031
View attachment 178032

Ensure that you place your desired link in the customer support website section.

- On the Availability and Pricing page, you will be able to change the TLDs that your link is placed on. The default options are fine if you would like your link to be placed on all TLDs. If you want to select specific regions and TLDs, select the 'Only in selected regions' option and choose the countries you'd like.

Example:
CQSg1Bb

- On the Description page, provide some descriptions about your site (the 'app) and add a few bullet points. Ensure that the description is relevant and fits the URL you'll be promoting.

Example:
QgcGpiE

- Then you'll need to add product images on the Image page. As it's a webapp, it's best to take screenshots of the URL you are promoting and then resizing them to a suitable size. For the icons you can use your site favicon or any other relevant logo, resized to the correct dimensions. Video and promotional image are not needed.

Example:
Swh6bs3

- You'll then find yourself on the Content Rating page. Select 'None' for all checkboxes, and set the target demographic to 18+

- You'll now be on the home stretch. Select 'No' on Amazon DRM, and add your link in the App URL field. Scroll down and check both 'Export compliance' and 'Distribution Rights' boxes.

- Click the Save button, and then hit the 'Submit App' button at the top of the page.

Now you'll have to wait until the app is approved. This takes from 1-7 days. If your app is not approved, try again following the advice that Amazon has given.

Indexing

These links used to index naturally but recent changes have meant that you'll need to index them yourselves. I'm not too up to date on current indexing services that work so you'd have to do this yourself :D

-

Hopefully this wasn't too hard to read. If you have any questions just send them over and I'll try and answer.

Cool.

OP deserves some credit on this - I would like to confirm this did work and successfully went through to the amazon app store via e-mail confirmation.

I have yet to see the backlink using your standard backlink checker - will keep you posted on that fellas.

It did appear on the Amazon App Store as well - confirmed. Thank you for sharing!

anyone got approved?
I just submited my site to it, waiting for approving, hope can get a backlink there :)
Good luck for me

I got this:

Your app submission is taking longer than expected to go live. Stay tuned for further updates.

Maybe to many app submissions after this thread :D
