Just got another copy of my tax bill from 2004, the last year I had a real job. I promptly threw it in my shredder.

I see some stores being seized for back taxes as well, some people being audited. I guess the US is really searching for that money now. I'm glad to say I do not pay anything above sales and property tax. Because really, what else should I be paying for?

App the advice, I've been pretty good at it thus far.

If there is one thing I know, you can't fool the taxman, for long anyway.

You know, you are better off to file some bogus form and not declare some income that just not filing. That will bring them to your door even faster. If you file and forget some income, you can always say you didn't know cause the laws are so confusing and play dumb. However, there is no excuse for not filing.

The IRS is now looking at if you have a mortgage and then comparing what you paid for your mortgage over a year versus what you reported as income on your tax return... so if you're paying $2k/month for a mortgage but you report $10k for the year as income, they know something is wrong and will audit you.

NOBODY could be that fucking stupid.

Where I live property taxes and sales taxes pay for the fire/police/roads and school taxes on my property pay for the schools and teachers. There is a garbage fee on my tax bill, A property tax to maintain the sewer system and even a minimal fee for the library. Even if I did not own a property this would be paid for through my 'rent'. Then sales tax comes in. I feel that the US would be wasting the tax money they can't rip from my hands.

I forgot to add the medicare mandates that go into my tax bill. Did I mention my property tax bill exceeds most persons monthly rent in the USA?

I have some measures in place. I'm dumb enough to declare what I did but not quite dumb enough to explain the process though.

I'm sorry but your principles don't matter in the slightest to the federal government. You wouldn't stand a chance in federal court with your argument. You will do federal time, and STILL have to pay them + hefty fines/penalties once you're out.

Not to say I enjoy paying taxes, I just pay them. Unless you plan on renouncing your US citizenship and moving abroad, you should reconsider your stance, for your own good.

As much as we know the rules aren't fair (the way taxes are apportioned, etc), we all play this game. If you have anything you lose, you will.

There are some who would argue we're not obligated to file tax returns at the Federal Level.

That being said, regardless of whether or not we're required to file them... if we file, we are obligated to report truthfully thanks to the happy affirmation at the bottom of the return.

Under penalties of perjury, I declare that I have examined this return, and to the best of my knowledge and belief, it is true, correct, and
accurately lists all amounts and sources of income I received during the tax year. Declaration of preparer (other than the taxpayer) is based
on all information of which the preparer has any knowledge.

Don't forget to note that 100% of income taxes goes to the Fraudster Reserve as INTEREST PAID ON THE NATIONAL DEBT.

Our monetary policy is a scam. The debt can NEVER be paid off. That's why the government devalues money.....and accomplishes it quite nicely!

Also the current Chairman of the Reserve is Ben "Throw money from a helicopter" Bernake

The level of stupidity on here sometimes is rather epic. I must thank you though, soon enough you'll be one less competitor.

Noted, thanx though. Most people assume I make $4 a day and wouldn't be liable for any tax.

Blade (Wesley Snipes) couldn't get away with it, so why do you think you can.

Dude, pay your taxes. Yes there is lots of corruption, but you get services as well from those monies. Go visit a 3rd world country once and get your eyes opened.

I love it when people say visit a third world country in these types of discussions.

And thanks, I have. It was quite fun!!

Also, only government officials get away with tax fraud. These people get hired in to Executive administrations. :eyebrows:

but dumb enough to post about it on a forum (that will be indexed, nonetheless)..

Hey folks,why jump the man.
If he smart enough to get away with not paying taxes then perhaps he should do it.
I for one did a big mistake once and didn't declare some income... three years later, almost at the deadline(3 years and you re safe) i get a letter from IRS.
Long story short i paid back taxes and interest. So I learned my lesson.
I pay now and always will pay taxes-its easier to sleep at night like that. If man can get away with it though it's his personal choice! Just like being a black hat or white hat-one's personal choice.
