I have good knowledge in HTML / CSS and SVG and I have great Photoshop and Illustrator skills. How far am I from actually knowing how to make a website and what do I need to learn? (Buying domains, hosting...)

It is wonderful that you have such great knowledge. Now you can create a blog for yourself, monetize it and make money. You can also help others create sites, or fix errors in sites. In any case, if you want to improve your knowledge for yourself personally, then this is also a huge plus, but I would also recommend applying this knowledge so that it brings you profit. My opinion...

you dont need any of those skills, but they are good to have, just buy a domain, install wp and there you go

Buying domain is easy. Same for hosting (I will suggest something with cPanel in your case). Besides this, you need to learn PHP if you want dynamic websites.
Why PHP? Can you explain more in details please? For example I rarely see like an ecom shop that was made with PHP, but they are dynamic.

Is easy to use for someone who builds his first website and every web hosting has PHP on their shared or private servers.

Dang, this is new for me, I always thought that it’s the hard one.. will look into this topic now.

You are there, just attempt something, and make things up as you go along, you'll be able to pick PHP up for what you need it for, from youtube tutorials easily.

Start with a shared hosting + domain from Namecheap or other big players
WP is super easy to set up
Won't take a week if you've got time to invest

100% agree with your opinion PHP will be helpful

Thank you all for your time to respond to me, You all helped a lot :)

HTML/CSS is just scripting and design. Its not even a programming language.

PHP is important for the backend - programming. Really great if you want to work with a database (Member area with login, dynamic pages where data is stored in the mysql database).

Also important and awesome: JavaScript. I love JavaScript. Its just such a great language. JavaScript is used for the Frontend development. There are also many great librarys like jquery.

If you dont want to learn both, go with JavaScript. U can use JavaScript for backend these days if u use Node.js!

But to be honest, it may not be worth it. Its very difficult to find work in these area. If you are from a Tier 3 country or tier 1 with highschool etc, you might consider to learn that stuff. Tier 1 Countrys like germany: Not even worth it.

Im coding for 12 years now and cant find clients here. Indian and Pakistan people are just 10x cheaper. Even though some clients did hire me just because they did want to get quality. If you think you will find a job in the programming industry, be prepared to work hard.

Hi, you have good skills
But to build and manage a website, you need to produce good content and move forward with a careful plan.
It is better to get involved in topics that are more specialized and less mentioned on the Internet.
