I use applied merchant services for my merchant account, I'v processed close to 30k no issues, no phone calls no hassel as long as there's no fraud I can process 100k but u also have to remember people owe me the money so there's no need for them to be thinking about a chargeback in the first place.
A merchant account is the way to go for anything online, see paypal are not real merchant accounts there 3rd party processors HELL! there not even regulated by federal banking laws that's why they get away with someone bull shit, there not a bank.
I'll break it down for you, when u have a merchant account your the 2nd party who gets the money first the customer makes a transactions then its reported to your proccesor then the funds get to u in about 2-3 business days. But when u process with a 3rd party processor such as paypal they have a processor just like me that dumps the money in there bank account not yours THERE'S! then u have to trasfer the money from there account to your account, now beause there not regulated by bank federal laws they don't have to do anything a normal processor would have to do for example.
if someone files a chargeback on me, VISA & MASTERCARD contacts my processor and they say hey heres a chargeback what's is your merchants reponse to this, normally i have about 14 days to respond, once i respond my merchant goes to the bank of the card holder and say hey heres the reponse the bank is regulated by certain laws because of mastercard and visa to actually look at the dispute and say yea the merchant is owed this money and we need to give it back, not only that by law a consumer has up to 5 chargebacks on the same charge and they can get away with it but thats another topic.
NOOW with paypal here's the issue, when someone issues a dispute with u in paypal they have there own policy because it's just a bank account that all the money sets in, not a actual bank. So they try to handel the dispute thereselves because honestly they have no power if the consumer is smart enough to issue a chargeback against paypal through there bank, paypal will not and i repeat will not defend u, no matter if your in the right WHY? because there not regulated by federal law to do so, that's why 99.9% of the chargebacks are honored against paypal all they do is say hey sorry the customer screwed u but hey seller u owe us our money back and they take it back out of your paypal funds or worse go into your bank account and take it. So get a merchant account don't ever in your life think paypal is the way to do business. it's just good marketing why do u think ebay makes u call them to verify merchant accounts because they know ebay sellers wised up and stopped using paypal and got a real merchant account, then ebay wised up and said hey u can use a merchant account but we have to tell u its ok first, but in reality less then 20% of merchant accounts are approved by ebay so they force u to use paypal.
