All thoughts aside as to whether it is good, bad or ugly when someone asks for a temp ban, the Mods are here to serve and we all know that and are happy to do so.

Part of our billet description is to help the members and if 30 seconds, or whatever it takes, to temp ban a person as a favor for them is an issue for us then we needed to turn in our Mod cards.

I never mind doing it and I would bet if I polled all the other staff they would all say the same thing.

No rules are being broken and we are helping out a member.

Perma Ban has got be satisying, go on dude, you know you can do it. They really need to focus these members that need time to "focus".

It is actually not satisfying... that is not the best way to grow the forum.

I'd rather warn and direct someone in the right direction instead of banning them.

True and I hear what you saying. However, what benefit does been asked to be banned bring to the community ?

Even the dude who created this thread has requested to be temp banned or whatever and how is that productive overall to the community ?

It isn't growing it, it's creating a trend of requesting to be temp banned, whilst it may only be "1 button" - it's something that isn't really needed and neither are the threads about why someone is banned, then ask to be banned.

If people really need to "focus" log of quietly and change account settings to not recieve notifications, etc and then focus on your shit.

People want what people want and if it helps them and not against the rules I'm happy to help if I can.

So OP had a hard time realizing that you can ask for a temp ban yourself and since this info blow his head he decided to follow.

Furthermore, conclusion that someone is asking temp ban to focus real life is actually way opposite. It's all about gathering any kind of attention.

This is what most of the world suffers from.
