Hi! Blackhateros, I wanted to expose my case to see if someone manages to draw some conclusion that I have not been able to.

I saw a website in another language that was having great success without links (niche with little competition) so I decided to buy an expired domain and copy it.
The expired domain had no relevant links or anything indexed, nor is it EMD. It was only dedicated years ago to the same topic. I got several thousand urls and all indexed and well positioned many of them.

Mysteriously in a very short time it received a huge amount of traffic that it still keeps.

Given this unexpected success, I decided to create another website in the same way, copy another website of the same niche that is doing very well, translate it and try to put all my websites in the serps for the keywords of that niche.

The expired domain chosen for this time also had no relevant links, it was of the same topic in the past and it had content indexed even.

I extracted several thousand urls and it indexed just as fast as the previous one with the difference that after a week practically everything was deindexed and in the site: only 4 urls appeared.

Possible errors: Same hosting used, ccTLD so they can see my data, same wordpress theme, same classes and same structure used.

I try again in the same way (copying another website), with a similar expired domain and same result as the previous one. The only difference is that in the site instead of 4 urls appeared 7.

Finally I fall into the errors mentioned above. I use the same content of the first website that failed but I change the theme, classes, css, hosting and domain registrar. Result? Going up more and more

Any possible idea why the two domains deindexed all their urls? What do you think it affected?

Did you upload all the pages at once?
Yes, I sent 4 thousand urls at a time because that's what worked for me the first time. When it worked for me I didn't consider it as a negative factor and I did it that way in all of them.

The 4 & 7 indexed URLs results seems an algorithm penalty and it has been shown many times recently,
you can test with warmed up domains/websites which you can try some handwritten articles within and get some good amount of traffic, let it age then add more scraped content, this way you'll have a less chance to get this penalty

How did you published posts? Did you use a software to automatically translate articles and publish them on your sites?
Or did you do it manually?

How long would you let it age?

With WP All Import

How did you download all content from other site and translated?

My guess is that this triggered the penalty.
4k new pages without any 301 redirect from an older source is suspicious.
It is more than NY Times with all their staff can manage and definitely indicates an automated (bot) activity.
And we all know that the only bots google tolerates are their own.

This is what seems to make the most sense but why on web 1 and 4 it worked and on web 2 and 3 it didn't? Maybe his expired website had thousands of urls too and that made him not penalized by Google?

Interesting experiment. What you got away with may not equal to google being on with it. I think we need a bigger sample if you need to draw a conclusion

With WP All Import
I am using WPAI often, I also have their woocommerce module for importing CJ feeds.
I am sure it allows for choosing random post dates from certain range, try next time this drip feeding mode and let us know please what will happen.

There is no way to know... just keep creating more sites lol

I myself do the EXACTLY same shit on all of my domains but the result is always random.

I prefer to spend my time improving my system instead of trying to figure out all the "whys" of the algorithm.

Interesting case, I'm using well over 100 auctioned domains at my disposal and I've noticed mixed results as well regardless to anything you do... sometime Google 'Love' one domain better than the other.. so it's a hit and miss.

I think like you two, I think there is a certain randomness factor in google.
