These are words that can not be debated. However...
there is luck. Sometimes you can manufacture it. As a total newbie I was hanging out at the Warrior Forum as I am doing right now here at B.H.W. I saw a thread that was on Fire about CPA offers and I noticed like every 3rd post was asking what is CPA offers. I was a total newbie never did anything online before but I got the idea to put together a short eBook on the subject and I gathered everything I could find on the subject and case studies where I saw people using it in action.
Like I saw a video on YouTube that was just nothing but slides and a cheap organ version of James Bond theme music and all the slides had the aftermath of car crashes and at the end it linked to a CPA Car Insurance Offer.
So I put stuff like that inside the eBook. I create a Special offer at $10 and just linked to it in my forum signature an rejoined and interacted with that hot CPA offers thread.
Long story short I sold 3000 copies and made $30,000 as a total newbie. But as a total newbie I had no idea the real Gold mine was that list of buyers that liked and trusted me . If only we had time machines.
But we have to say f*ck what is normal and to be expected...open our eyes.....opportunity is all around us at all times. If there is a pain point for someone there is possible revenue for the person that takes action to ease that pain for that person.
Everyone here knows more than a total newbie just plugging into the internet today. I am sure you could offer them some good advice and even a link to something that will help them on their journey that just may or may not reward you for that referral.
People are creating income streams in FB groups.People are getting traffic from Pinterest pins. People are making money on the free version of Canva .
If our mind does not see these things then of course our destiny will be written for us instead of the other way around.

I was always a short term thinker and now I create something that makes me happy, which is an answer to a desire and which I plan to keep on adapting and working on for the next 10 - 20 years

Words of wisdom. I had a blessing and a curse great ideas popping in my head daily. The things you really want to do your budget is not co-operating type of thing.Great post.

THe thing is that most people chase shiny objects all the time.
I think the ultimate goal in life is to create something that we love and where there is a pain point like you say that WE can ease.
Jumping from one thing to the other will not bring anything. Focusing on a long term business is the only true way to have a consistent income. I can create an asset and flip in a matter of days from now til eternity but I am not getting any younger and if your money is not making you money these days we are doing it wrong.
A list, a database. It is recession proof and platform proof and algorithm proof. A true asset.
I go to YouTube and see 19 year old Drop Shippers who then invested that loot into options and dividends and I am thinking where the hell was Spotify when I was 19!
But working less and earning more...that is the ticket for me now.
