I hope everyone is well! I know this has been asked before but I'm hoping to get clarity on this issue.

PAGE SPEED

How much of a contributing factor to ranking is it really?

Yup. According to Google. We are not sure how much does it contribute though!

But i think user experience has high contribution than page speed.

Page speed does matter - at least Google says so - but I've also seen incredibly slow/badly designed websites on the top of the rankings, so take that with a grain of salt. It's always good for the users though.

It matters depending on who is accessing your sites, a potential client having problems with loading your website will go & look for someone else. They won't exactly wait around. Make it at least average, like it shouldn't take more than 2 min to load.
It is true that there are poor loading websites doing well, but I think it is because they have been around for a while. If your site is new, and you're trying to rank, best to pay attention to this too.

You ask this question to yourself

You have a website and consider your someone visiting the site as a potential customer would you not want the best of experience?

There you go....

Yes, and with or without the last Google update, it's about the user experience.

Page speed matters and a lot, not just to improve your site´s organic rankings but, also, when it comes to improving your site´s conversion rate.

Page speed is strongly related to offering your visitors with a better user-experience (UX) and this is something Google cares about a lot. So, saying page loading speed doesn´t matter is just BS.

There are exceptions to this rule of course. If you´re already an authority on your industry/niche, Google won´t care too much if your site loads in 10secs for example.

But, if you´re launching a brand new site on a brand new domain and would like to rank high on the SERP you better heavily focus on offering your visitors with the best possible UX you can and that includes page speed.

Let me ask you this...When was the last time you waited more than 5 seconds for a website to load on your phone?

Now imagine having an e-commerce website with a product page taking 5+ seconds to load...Will you have the patience to complete the checkout process? - I don´t think so.

Personally, I think whether or not is a ranking factor it´s secondary to the main fact that page loading speed affects your site´s conversion rate and the UX, and this is more than enough for me to take notice and work on this.

Cheers and stay safe!

Do you like slow speed internet connection? You'll look for the fastest Internet, right?

This is the trend. It applies to many things.

It matters a lot now since Big G has officially said it's going to be an important factor.
Also it's good will take some time but most people will gradually move to fix their site speeds.
Those lazy themes will be improved now for sure.
And I think this will surely kill the number of slow and shit slow web hosting services in coming years.

now a days people have so many option if your website take time to open than person will switch to another one

yes.... Google to Use Page Speed as Ranking Signal in Mobile Search now.

It matters, but not as much as some people think...
There are some people who really seem obsessed about it and install a bunch of plugins on the site to try to open the site like a rocket...do the basics, if your site opens normally, within the average time, that's good enough.

Page speed also impacts user experience like bounce rate and user interaction, which is believed to impact search results.

Yeah, I agree. going from say 3 seconds to 1.5 is not going to put you in the first spot.

Who wants to browse a slow site? Speed matters a lot as good speed means a good user experience.

It matters for the UX, but Google have said that it's a ranking factor too. They didn't mention it's probably less than 1% lol

Pagespeed is important for giving a better user experience, reducing bounce rate, and for google ranking as well. Not everyone opens the search results in new tabs and surf other tabs till it loads.
