- domain name... is it a domain name like "nikeshoes.com" or like "nikeproducts.com"? If it's about shoes you will want a single niche website, if it's about products you will want a multi-niche website

- your time, commitment and resources... if you get bored writing even an article a day, or if you don't have $100s to $1000s per month to spend on content and backlinks you will want single niche website

First thing is your domain name should cover a broad niche. If it does then start of with a specific sub-niche, build topical authority around the sub-niche, then branch out to other sub-niches and repeat the same process. Ultimately you'll have a multi niche site that has a lot of topical authority.

If your domain name covers a specific niche then you should start a website around that niche only.

Build it as a money site and you'll reap the rewards for a long time. Using it as a PBN won't be beneficial because you'll need a lot of sites to build a decent network. One site as a PBN won't do much.

You should definitely focus on one niche when starting out. Focusing on a single niche makes it easier to establish the authority you need initially & then you can expand on other niches & will be a lot easier to rank new articles.

The multi-niche site and single-niche site have their own sets of perks.

If you choose multi-niche, then you can have a lot of content to cover, traffic can be obtained easily, and hence the revenue increases.
This is applicable only with best SEO practices and quality content. Hence you need a team of people to work for you to follow the best SEO technique and to provide lots of qualified content.

If you choose single-niche, then there is no need for a team you can maintain your site easily, easy SEO, and lower operating costs.
Along with this here comes less content, thus need for more research and low traffic compared to the multi-niche.

Choose the type of niche you want based on your preferences.

Well, it depends on what your plans are.

Are you looking to take that DA40-branded domain and develop it into a website that you can sell later on?

Or, are you looking at it as a long-term source of passive income?

These are two different objectives that require two different plans.

If you were to ask me if I had that asset, I would focus on a single niche. I will try to turn that DA40-branded domain name into a solid authority site in its niche.

This can only happen if my topic coverage is an inch wide but miles deep.

Of course, this is not going to produce instant cash unless you are aggressive in buying links.

But if you are using a totally white hat SEO strategy, I would suggest going with a single niche website.
