Creating niche blogs without keyword research

If I spent the next few years writing and curating content for numerous niche blogs and connected them to social media etc., dropped links on key quora questions, forum posts, all that...

My question is what is the likelihood that eventually one of them will start ranking and giving me traffic that I could monetize with buyer intent etc... WITHOUT any SEO research for long tail/competition or worrying about keywords etc. but just focusing on providing value to various search terms people are searching for in general and finding some of those people, driving conversions for them and then maybe google will start to latch on to one or two of these niche blog projects I create?

What is the likelihood that I could succeed with that. If not, what do you recommend for doing bare minimum SEO and just focusing on content and value instead. The SEO thing has always been sorta my roadblock- also it seems like SEO doesn't matter as much any more since paid ads are such a big thing, am I wrong in this?

Here's what I consider publish and pray approach that doesn't work in SEO.
If I'm focusing on "How baseball is made" that doesn't mean I will become a good player of baseball.
Similarly if you are going to focus on Quora/Reddit/Other social apps then you can only attract social traffic, without putting efforts on keyword research & competition analysis and back links it is not possible to get high rankings. You need to focus on SEO.

Is there a good cheap alternative to paying $99/month to ahrefs for the keyword research/competition analysis? or should i just pony up the money for that and try and do as much as I can in a month of research... hmm

So I have a pet project blog that was made with no keyword research, and any work I do on it even now is done without caring about keyword research.
I don’t care about seo ranking, I don’t build serious links.
I focus on social sharing, I focus on using it to answer questions on Quora, I share it on social channels.
My traffic comes from those sources, I’ve never cared about seo ranking.

keyword research should be one of the easiest things to do while building your website, yet, it's one of the most important things to consider,

The bare minimum is to scrape a bunch of long-tail keywords from ahrefs and/or G Keyword Planner,
or you can hire someone to make a good list for you, there are several sellers & BST threads in bhw already

You should pay for that and use it to it's fullest in the first month

There is another option where you have those group buys where 10 people come in and pay $9 each every month but please do some research on such group buys

Also, see if they offer trial plans as that should be enough

do a simple search on facebook and you will get people selling shared ahref for as low as 4 $ a month.

Just like that i paid $10 and have access to literally every seo tool imagineable. now where do I start?? lol.

I know from years of lurking and research that I should first target and boost easy to rank keywords which would help me rank for harder keywords later on. Best way to find those? I have access to all the major tools now like semrush and ahrefs.

If you have any tips/links to direct me to, I'm interested in starting finance, crypto, music blogs, and launch some tools using seo from codecanyon (php scripts etc)

Niche is defined by keywords these days, so if you don't do keyword research, it is not a niche blog

It depends, I guess, on just how much social media content you’re going to push out and how many forum posts you’re going to make, as well as Quora questions you’re going to answer.

It all boils down to a numbers game.

If you create a lot of content, there’s a chance that at least one of them might, somehow, rank.

But, the way you described your idea, it doesn’t seem like the return on effort is there.

What if I told you that you just created content from questions that Google auto-suggest spits out, you would have a stronger chance of ranking?

You can’t come up with theoretical or speculative topics—these are questions or keywords that you hope, somehow, people would search for.

That’s like rolling a dice or playing Russian roulette.

The risk of you wasting your time is just too high!

Focus on Google auto-suggest tool and, at least, create content based on stuff that people are actually searching for.

Now, you don’t know how many people search for those questions.

But if you create enough content targeting enough questions, your chances of ranking is going to be much higher than just taking wild guesses.
