New domain vs old domain

Hi
I want to create a roofing website and i have 2 domains .
One domain has 400 days and the second only 30 days.
Do you think that the 400 days domain will rank better than the 30 days. Both domains are empty, no history, no seo, no backlink.
Whats your oppinion?

I ain't an SEO expert but I don't think it matters because they don't have history, SEO, backlinks, etc
Anyway, wait for another member to confirm this ...

So no value in terms of ranking factor.

Look if those domain names are brand able, easy to remember, in your niche (if both are yes)
go for 400 days old domain

In my experience, despite Google claims that age doesn't matter.. it matters. I Build an network of websites with various TLDs and age of the domains, and while I don't think there is significant difference in 1 year+ time, the aged .com domains ranked faster, than new domains with weird extensions.

Are there any experiments or studies known that look into information like this? It often feels to me like that lots of SEO advice comes from "experience". Which I understand, but it makes it hard to quantify some claims, or know how true they still hold.

Its pretty hard to come with conclusive data, as you have to have equally good content, keyword density, keywords in URLs and what not, to ensure that there is no other difference than the age of the domain. Still there can be something dark in the past of the aged domain, that is not shown in Archive which will cripple your results.

An aged domain is better than a brand new domain.

An indexed aged domain is even better, since Google keeps track of the the original crawl/indexing date.

An indexed aged domain with some history, ideally in the same market, is a smart move.

An indexed aged domain with some history and topical relevancy that is also powered by high authority links is the best formula for a domain you can get.

Doesn't matter. Make one of them core domain name and use another domain name with server redirect to have SEO effect.

Aged is better, but if there's no history then I would just the brandable domain
and drip content into it while slowly building out some links.

Old domain have metrics and backlinks the popularity of the site and domain age does matter, which have greater impact in ranking and traffic of a site.

They'll both likely behave similarly all things being equal.

In my opinion they're both brand new domains
