Buying expiring domain...?

I am looking to purchase an expiring or for sale PR 3+ domain. Can somebody point me in the right direction as far as where is the best place to pick something like this up. Also, what steps should I take to insure I am getting what I paid for. Thanks for your help.

If you mean taking such a name as soon as it expires, you'll have a long queue of backordering for dropped & expiring .coms with pagerank. However..

Go to freshdrop dot net and search the godaddy domains that have pr. You can normally pick up a domain with pr3 for $10 plus the price of one year registration.

DP has a good buy/sell domain section, you will get few pr3 there.

When you buy an expired domain once you transfer the details across don't you lose the domain age and in time maybe lose the pr also?

my tip: never buy an expiring domain just because of PR, you can build PR of any domain easily.

agreeden with those who've posted about freshdrop dot net - great place to look at all kinds of stats from multiple auction houses - you can see way beyond just PR there....

and -1 about buying names from DP users - you'll get digital herpes from dipping your wick in there

@kriminal - if you buy a name in the aftermarket, most of the time (if not always) you don't lose the history/age etc. There's a period of time when names are called "expired" or "expiring" but they're actually being held by the registrar before they get thrown back to the registry. As far as PR, only Big G really knows, but a lot of the linkjuice will stick as long as you get it before it goes back to the registry.
