I have a network of adult sites that is getting good traffic. Unfortunately it doesn't work too well with typical affiliate programs, because my traffic mainly consists of freeloaders. There aren't any good and reliable CPM networks for adult either.

So I was thinking of using one of my mainstream sites to sign up at a good mainstream CPM network and place their CPM banner on my mainstream site. I would then insert this page into my high-traffic adult network, either as a small or an invisible iframe. Another option is using a mainstream popunder network the same way.

Has anyone ever tried something like this?
What mainstream CPM/adult networks are good? (Please pm me the names, don't post them here)
Suggestions are more than welcome

using an invisible IFRAME with CPM is like begging to get banned...almost everything equates to CPA in the end, so if youre getting thousnads of views but no clicks or conversions, eventually someones going to see somethings up, check your traffic, then boom. gone before payday

Indeed, perhaps the invisible iframe method can be crossed out. What about the small iframe with visible banner or the popunder method? Do you think I will get away with that?

I tried, it's a decent income: around $40/day for around 30k uniques per day. But I think I can make even more with mainstream CPM programs, as I have 10x more pageviews than uniques.

I expect any banner company worth their salt will be doing all the javascript tricks possible to find the actual url that the ads are being shown on - im not sure if an IFrame will be enough to hide the url or not...

have you tried adbrite? you can sell CPM ads through there.

No matter how grim adult traffic seems, there are things you can do. Get creative with your exit path. Let me give you an example. We had the normal exit path on some of our generic hardcore sites, 5 popups, then a dialer, etc. Sign ups were down, it was the same old crap, everyone wanting something for free. So on one of our video sites at the end of the exit path we popped a site that was a bi-sexual site, bi-sexual for guys, at this time no one had seen anything like that, bi-sites targeting men on straight sites just wasn't being done, we set it so the tour of that site would continue in another window so any guy who was offended or grossed out would close it and be done with it, but if they were "curious" (as we found out A LOT of people were) they could continue the path which would show them the tour of the bi site then maybe pop up a gay site or two, then at the very end of this, we put up a window that showed the path of where they just came from, and a paranoia ad about tracks on your computer and what would your wife say if she knew you were surfing gay porn, with the last ad being for evidence eraser. It was good for several hundred joins a day on totally abused almost worthless traffic.

My point is this, porn traffic for the most part is jaded and un-shocked, but if you really put your mind to it and throw them for a loop, you can squeeze blood from a stone.

Sign up for the program in my sig if you haven't already used them (I dont care if you use my affiliate code or not, but if you want the variables to change the pages, thats a good way to get them), they have Geo targeted flash chat windows that convert like mad. I can also give you some private variables that will change the landing page to suit just about any kind of traffic.

Thanks. I was lucky enough to work with and for the real big dogs in the adult internet. Gary from sex.com, Rob from Babenet, I got my start working for Brian Shuster of Xpics publishing - the original $60mil a month monster, and I was the dir of marketing for the company that created the recurring billing model.

This was back in the days of million dollar open bar parties, weeklong webmaster conventions in Curacao, and so much goddamn money coming out of everywhere, it was just unreal.

Then it all fell apart, mastercard starting issuing retroactive chargebacks for millions, amex and discover stopped processing adult, spamming became harder and harder, the feds came in, and the money tree started dying, so now you have some of the greatest minds in internet marketing wracking their brains on how to keep it going.

I am not lying when I tell you that I worked on the team that invented the exit console, disabling the back button, the mouse trap, and the timed pop up that showed up 30 min after you left the site.

My mentor was the first person to make a banner that said "Now downloading virus click here to stop it" back when xpics was paying .29 on untracked raw clicks and .15 an impression. Kingdoms were built on money that was made from clickfraud.

I was in the thick of a very beautiful time on the internet, one that will never, ever happen again, and when you lie down with dogs, you're going to get up with some really smart fucking fleas.

well, i worked off of buzzkill's idea, here's mine.

in each section i.e. blondes,brunette's

have a button that reads "go!" or "hit me!", or anything clever, cant think of anything right now,

as soon as someone clicks that button a random pic will show up for them, and with the attention span us males have, itll be 5 seconds until he hits the button again to find another pic within that same category pop up
tho ure gonna have to set up a script that will get this done, normal visiors will definately give you 5-20 clicks, and horn-dogs/creeps will give you 50+

combine the randomize button/tour's plus proper banner links to your network, and you'll get all the hits you need
