market samurai 0.85.9 problem

After no success with a few auto blogs I finally decided to actually do some market research first.

I installed market samurai 0.85.9 but I'm not able to get the SEO competition data.

I watched the videos on utube and when they do it a pop up window appears saying fetching SEO competition data and then a progress bar. I don't get the progress bar. It appears stuck for some reason though market samurai does not crash. I can cancel without any problem and continue doing other things.

I searched for this and the only solution I found was to unzip a proxy2.zip to the local store folder. I did copy a proxy2.cache to that folder during the installation so don't think that is problem and the previous information I searched for market samurai did not have any problems getting.

One other thing: i had a previous version of market samurai installed but uninstalled it before installing this one.

Are you using the cracked version, paid, or free trial?

I've heard of a few people having problems with the cracked version.

Also, it could be something with your security settings. Some firewalls or internet security programs will block this type of thing. I had this exact problem happen to me when using Keyword Elite but Market Samurai has always worked fine for me. Not sure what the difference was but the KE people said it was something with my firewall.

Maybe just try contacting their support to see if they can help you.

I fixed mine. Looks like 1936.chanamasala.info was being blocked.

I am definitely going to buy this as soon as I get some monies. It's seriously my favorite keyword tool and it works perfect on my mac. So great.

I disabled my firewall but I am still unable to retrieve SEO competition results... anyone figure out why we are unable to retrieve this data?

The keyword generator is great on this. What I personally do is get several keyword lists from this and import them into my serp scraper, load the scraper up on several servers and just let it scrape on low speed for about 24 hours. After about a day I have a combined list of about 100,000 fresh blogs to send the other bots to visit.

Moral of this story? Just use the useful parts of each program.

I'm using the cracked version obtained on this forum.

Also I should have have no problems with my firewall. I'm very experienced configuring them and does not make any sense that previous info requested market samurai is able to fetch and when it comes to this info it blocks.

In Market Samurai go to File > Settings and then click on Proxies. Uncheck the top check mark where it says "use built in proxies.." and check the box on the "Use custom proxy.."
Find a proxy online and type it in underneath where it says host and port. Press ok and you are done.
I hope this works for you guys aswell.

:dunno: What am I missing? I've tried a few proxies I found online and none of them work. First attempt (such a noob, never looked for a proxy before), so I didn't really know how to pick a good one or whatever. But this is crazy that all are dead!

It works! I use a paid proxy and I can fetch the SEO data.

For lack of money, I downloaded the crack version. The SEO Competition Data was not being pulled. A simple fix to this would be to change your proxy list or take proxy off.

MS pulls data the SEO Competition from google keyword tool or adwords.
You have to remember google will ban your ip temporally for pulling too many keywords in a short time span. So thats why you need proxies. Some proxies that you are using may be banned temporally because other people could be using the same proxies as you.

I had this problem when I first used MS.

Again, A simple fix for SEO competition data not being pulled would be to change your proxy list or take proxy off if your not going to pull much keyword data. Also apply the filters in MS so you'll be less likely to be temporally ban by google.
