Friends suggestions are coming from mutual friends, sounds like a simple coincidence.

But I do believe that Facebook is collecting all the possible data they can, including video and audio, if they want to.

Facebook then probably sells it to aliens so they can market the Earth!

facebook can hear your voice, video, etc.. I once talking with my wife about something and when i open facebook there is an ad about it.
facebook is spy that's why apple releasing ios 14.

Look at this friend, he correctly said that. The future is private, that means not TODAY!!!! Today he can listen. lol. He's genius to use that quote. People don't understand this.

not really but steal a lot of data

I do know whatever you type in Facebook Messnger, Whatsapp, or any chat platforms of their products/services will get tracked.

I've been very suspicious about them spying what we're talking too.

There are a few times I've chat with friends and/or families about something - totally out of my interest, which I never "Liked" in FB or did a search on Google (as some sites have FB pixels which can again track you) - then it started popping up on my newsfeed... I remember it is a product.

Few years back this video went viral:

Then again....
If this video is the answer... I guess because your friend and your FB's was tracking your GPS and knows both of you are meeting (or perhaps from whatsapp conversation that both of you are planning to meet)... and FB already knew your friend has been searching up about the person and assumes it is gonna be a topic. So the next day or so, they show the ad? I don't know... Just tossing some possibilities here.

I use to share some coffee image over whatsapp without type "coffee" in the chat room, next thing appear is coffee ads.

I’ve experienced similar things. Just talking about a particular product, service, or even a person. And Facebook starts recommending ads and whatnot.

Facebook Google and Amazon. If you ask me google is most dangerous because they don't know what they are doing. Knowledge in the hands of nitwits is dangerous especially access to ai.

yes of course Google, Facebook, and youtube all are doing the same thing. When the product is searched in google, the related video and similar product details will get displayed on youtube and in your Facebook ads.

That's pixel tracking. Like 100 year old technology. Hehehe.
They got far beyond that.

No, probably it was geolocation or same Wi-Fi network. They do that.

That random guy lives 100's km away from my location

I think they do as ads appearing when I've just been having a random conversation about something I've not searched for or expressed an interest in.

Very naughty, but this is where we find ourselves pre and post "reset".

Not just Facebook. All software that you talk to has to listen to you in order to respond. Less known fact is that even if you don’t have a microphone, your speakers can be used to “listen” to you. Yep, that is right, google “using speaker as a microphone”.
