The problem with taxes is that governments are not held accountable for what they are doing with the money. If I don't pay my taxes I go to jail, if some fucker from the gov spends millions for scuba diving equipment in the railroad industry he gets a slap on his wrist, and then more taxes have to go to that industry to fix the problem. This is an ever repeating cycle
This is why a lot of countries struggle because today's taxes are spent for loans which happened 20-30 years ago
