Hey guys,

Is Dropshipping really dead, honest opinion ?
Also, what other business models do you prefer, that are still profitable and will be the next big thing

dropshipping is not dead, have some issues if you work as everyone else, and also if you are dealing with aliexpress, transit times kills your business after a few sales with complaints and charge backs.

i have some stores running OK

I would say that dropship isn't dead and never will but if you wanna start serious business in ecom waters, you should find local or at least better solutions than aliexpress. For example the gymshark starts as a dropship store and then they just move on the regular ecom store.

i will save you some time and $$$, think small, find a niche and work on it, don't be a Walmart or amazon

However, I believe that dropshipping directly from China will die within the next few years.

And, I don't recommend relying on facebook ads or google ads. Ban rates are increasing, even for non-dropshippers.

I've been banned over 500 times by each, and you can't really have a stable business when using farmed accounts and such.

If you can avoid those things, then I think it can work.

Dropshipping is not dead, if you know how to handle shipping times and fulfilment, you gonna make big bucks.

Instead of doing dropshipping directly from China, you can find order a few items to warehouses (there are companies that can receive your items, unpack them, store them, and then ship them to your clients without your even touching the items) in your target country and keep them there.

I know it goes against the pure dropshipping model, but this might help to decrease complaints from customers regarding slow delivery times

as long as there are suppliers selling something for 0.3x and you do enough marketing to sell it for 1x, dropshipping is alive

the rest is solved with stealth accounts, good customer service and at least reasonable suppliers...

Every business model works, stop analyzing and start taking action.

Amazon FBA works.

SEO works

Affiliate marketing works.

Niche sites work.

Selling courses works.

What doesn't work is a lack of action because you're considering which is the BEST.

Start, fail & adapt.

I do agree on this, dropshipoing 1000s of items connected to AliExpress is not a good sustainable niche. I work with startups companies and recently was wondering if dropshipping products made in the US for just a specific niche actually may work better. Who are the dropshippers here that think they can do well with a new dropshipping idea, like having your own brand under your own name as a dropshipping type of business without having to deal with inventory or fulfillment?
Do drooshippers have to have 1000s of products? Or can you actually do good with a certain niche with 10-15 products that are made and shipped from the US? I thought if there is something like this, then the delayed shipping and the fulfillment issues are solved and dropshippers will have a peace of mind knowing thatthey are dealing with US manufacturers, and their orders are shipped on time to their customers.

Dropshipping IMO can be done perfectly right, if you choice the products, who makes it and if you make sure the fulfillment is done correctly, and in the US.

Shipping times are important, but the real crippling factor are the bans the traffic platforms dish out.

There isn't a way to solve them.

But you can use alternatives.

what did you mean with this? Can you please elaborate more?

Dropshipping is for kids trying to make money to pay for shoes and gadgets that their broke ass parents refuse to pay for. If you are serious about ecommerce and want to treat it as a real business, you'd find money to buy inventory, identify the right products, look for warehousing and fulfillment solutions and focus on margins. And along the way you'd learn a lot of things if you go this way that you wouldn't with dropshipping.

Dropshipping should not be a name that comes from your mouth...

It's a concept created by course sellers to sell you dropshipping as a get rich quick model from 2012.

Think about a business, a real legit ecommerce business where you do the effort to give the product to your customer in 1 day or 2 days.

unhappy customers = a failed business... and who wants to wait 3 weeks for shipping? no one.

You are destined to lose with a long shipping time, it's the most important... Unless you have a good reason to explain the delay, but I mean a very very good reason.
