Are press releases safe for tier 1?

I’m leaning towards no.
I mean there’s gonna be a shit ton of news sites with the same exact article being released at basically the same time.

Thinking about using it as tier 2.
However I see a lot of people saying it’s fine haha.

If it's real PR that gets syndicated to decent platforms (yahoo finance, apnews, USAToday, marketwatch, business insider etc.) it's definitely worth it.

Especially for local SEO.

Definitely safe because even the biggest brands go for it. But, beware to use an authoritative distributor. Don't go for the ones which don't distribute your news along different websites.

Tons of nofollow links so I don't need to build them manually and you need a healthy mix of both but I'm not going to pay for tons of nofollow links elsewhere than via PR.

I recommend not to use PRs for link building. After certain amount of time they will be removed. If you really got some news to share then only go for PR distribution.

You can safely use them, they are pretty much nofollow anyway. I'd not count on much movement though, most useful when you launch something new, etc.

if Google doesn't like such links/pages, it would no-index them at all or deindex them after a while,
the fact is most of these links get indexed pretty fast and are kept there, so yes, it's definitively worth it & safe to use

And it really has little to no value, unless real journalists pick up on it and write original stories

I would say: safe, nofollow, deindexed fast, no SEO value, automatic distribution rare bring any traffic.
