What Is the Internet Computer (ICP)?
The Internet Computer, developed by the DFINITY Foundation, is a cryptographic platform and a protocol aiming to create a public decentralized cloud computing resource to become the next step in the evolution of the internet. It wants to shatter the dominance of centralized cloud service providers and redesign the internet to become distributed and secure while at the same time reducing IT maintenance and deployment costs tenfold. The protocol claims to be optimised for scaling, achieving block times of a few seconds and transaction finality after only two confirmations.

The project has been in development since 2015, attracting a notable interest from the crypto community. The first presale occurred in summer 2017 and a total investment exceeded $102 million. 50,000 backers received ICP tokens in an airdrop in 2018. DFINITY launched the alpha mainnet of its “Internet Computer” on Dec. 18, 2020. The mainnet beta version public launch is announced for Mar. 30, 2021, with the release happening somewhere later in 2021.

Can you explain how they are going to use blockchain in cloud computing? Don't just give me the WHITE PAPER. I want to know what attracted you into this. Why do you think it's a good idea to invest in this shitcoin?

They are working on it since 2017 and it's something huge that could eventually change the Internet. It could even be bigger than Ethereum.
Coinbase is listing it when it's not even out yet... This is not something that you will throw away like a shitcoin.
But yeah do not invest on it, if you believe it's a shitcoin.

I'm all against shilling shitcoins but this is about as far away from a shitcoin as it gets. Right now this is probably the most hyped-up project in the entire crypto world.

There are a ton of posts and videos about it on internet that could answer to your question. But since you are saying, it's a shitcoin. From there, why would I even bother try to explain to you.
When the project will be in the top 5 marketcap. You would feel pretty stupid to say "stop chilling shitcoins"

I honestly don't know much about it either but I see it absolutely everywhere and it looks like a massive project. For the public, it will probably be pretty difficult to invest at first.

Well, I'm not saying that you should invest. I'm also not going to invest anyway since it's not even possible yet.

I'm just saying it's definitely not a shitcoin, that much is clear just from the website, the hype surrounding it and the amount of time the project was in development.

No, I don't judge crypto just based on their development time. Time in development is also not the only factor that I mentioned in that post.

I'm not good at programming, but that doesn't mean I can't spot a basic shitcoin from an actual legitimate project. Just the fact that Coinbase is tweeting ahead of time about the listing of this token immediately disqualifies it as a shitcoin. But if you'd spent less time arguing here in the thread and more time reading about the project, I think you'd probably realize it yourself.

The airdrop was a long time ago in 2017 or 2018 via coinlist so this is not possible to get it anymore. I even thought it was a scam since I had to pay a fee 7-9$ fee + KYC to get it, but I’m glad and still did it.
