Ok I know quality matters but my competitors have a huge amount of links.. crazy amount imo.

I can not get banned by google I work in a multi million dollar corporation but we are attacking the big online companies.

What would you do for links. I know I need to outsource but I need a good strategy first.

I know my comp uses affiliate sites to increase the # of backlinks they have. I think I can do that as well. We own a lot of unused domains that we can set up software to point back to our site.

I know I should use free blogs to point back to our site. How many blogs on each platform should I create like is 20 blogger blogs too many.. is 20 wordpress.com too many.. on their free domain...

any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

If you are sure you won't get banned or if you already have hundreds of links to your site, I'd buy an Xrumer blast (forum profiles and posts) from the buy/sell forum. I've never used it, but I have read so many good things about it on BHW that I'd try it if I had a site that was aged and already had a lot of links established and I needed a few hundred more links.

Or I'd buy a few hundred Web 2.0 profiles, bookmarks and article posts from the buy/sell section. I have done that and was happy with the results.

Or you could do any of the above yourself, it would just take a lot of time. By the way, there are hundreds of free Web 2.0 properties to build on, so building 20 back links on WP.com or blogspot.com (I wouldn't do it unless you are using automation software to save time) is going to put many of your links on a duplicate IP addresses (and if you believe the accepted theory here) and devalue those same links.

i have about 2k links now.. most ive created myself buy following techniques on this forum.

I was thinking of xrumer but i was not thinking about buying a bunch of web 2.0 properties.. can you tell me a bit about how that worked for you and who you used?

To be honest, buying the Web 2.0 properties was part of an overall backlink building program. I built a lot, bought a lot and really couldn't tell how effective they were, but they did show up in a backlink search. I don't remember who I bought the packages from, but they were difficult to order from again because of all the business they had. But, if I were to buy more, I'd look for the most recent buy/sell threads with the most pages and read them for latest reviews. I think those are going to be the most reliable sellers.

ok i didnt mean I will not get banned by google ever.. what i meant is that i can not do anything that would risk me getting banned by google. i need to stay on google and keep things "legal" so to speak.

yes i understood that. Think the people who didnt are not english speakers.

An xrumer blast should be fine if your site is quite old and buy sounds of it, already has quite a few backlinks.

$75 for a 750k blast is cheapest i have seen on this forum. Cant remember which thread it was though.

I would not recomment direct blast.
The competitors will analyze your Back links and if they see that you use that kind of BL you'll for sure loose your job.
Create Linkwheels in 2 or 3 levels and blast the blogs. Target some blogs or sites that already have one of your BL in the same theme as your site and you're safe. It'll look natural. Safety > all

I dont think I can do a 750k blast.. that might raise a stink. im thinking of doing some smaller ones.. and doing some that target blogs, squidoo, and things like that...

I also think an affilliate program would help us a lot as well.

im still looking for ideas.. so if you have them please post them up. I have learned a ton here but a lot of the focus is on lower competition keywords..

Ask your employees to create a blog about the company. Give them all the content and each one has to copy past the content into a blog and link to your company.
It takes them few minutes to do and in the other side you get huge amount of links.
