Getting a start—advice wanted

I'm looking for basic or specific advice on how to start generating revenue. Some basic context of my situation may be relevant here.

I'm a 31 year old male, currently in a sober living facility where I will probably be for months to come. I do have free time throughout the day and on weekends, as well as a laptop and wifi. I use my spare time to learn CSS, JavaScript and PHP. I have considered Fiverr and Upwork as possible avenues of income in the future. I have a good grasp of grammar as well, so I've also considered editorial work as a possibility.

My current ambition is to work in the web field, either via freelance or remote work. I've considered enrolling in a code bootcamp, but this requires money. I am also unsure if that would be better than continuing to learn on my own. I'm interested in tapping the minds of people here to see what opportunities they can think of for someone in my situation trying to make money, and perhaps some opinions on whether a code bootcamp would be a good choice.

your best advice would be
Stop considering, if you want something, you put your foot forward and start.
Knowledge is power, but knowledge isn't sacred, it's built from past experience. No amount of $ will bring that in.
If you are worried about spending $$ with no ROI, then go ahead and find a day job.

While learning programming languages will eventually pay off, I'm also interested in other means of income I'm not familiar with, some of which are probably discussed on this site. As someone generally unfamiliar with much of what is discussed, I am wondering what might be a good start for someone in my position.

You have already made the first steps to success, your here! My advice is to never give up, no matter how hard things get, you can never fail if you never give up. You don't have to have anything to make a company online if you're smart about it. That's how i started with "$0". You're on the right track with coding, it's a skill that you can make money off of without revenue. You will have to reinvest everything. Just keep trying!

You are going to have a real tough time succeeding if you are looking for a ROI right away.
But it is 100% possible.
For a guideline, I was suggest you to take a read in the IM Journey section.
All Journey come from a train of thought. You may be able to find some ideas there and develop them into your own.

You are thinking about too many things. Want to worry about programming?

Tell me this... How is O(1) different than O(n), when it comes to time complexity?

If you don't know the answer (yet), you are not ready for a "course". Learn basic computer science first. Then think about advancement.

I wouldn't tell this to a 30 year old man though. From your replies it seems like you are still quite young. I hate this "entrepreneurship" mentally that drops kids out of formal education. It's not a scam, you are already being scammed because someone else promised you some 5 figure amazon course.

Basic education always helps, in anything.

You could try learning from Youtube and other free methods. You can try to learn as much as you can and then maybe try to finalize a field and use Fiverr or upwork to get a few clients. The first few clients will teach you a lot in how to handle clients, how to manage your work, things you can do and cannot do. Just try your best and there is obviously something for everyone to learn and grasp from the field of web.
