punn3301, can you give us examples of whitehat videos?
Well, I'm not going to give out any of my links. Sorry. I'd rather keep my "blackhat" status a secret.
My advice would be to think product reviews. And not just digital stuff like Clickbank ebooks.
For the most part, some of the stuff I see people doing on YouTube is pretty tame and probably closer to White Hat then maybe they even realize. Shooting a Camtasia vid about a Clickbank ebook and then linking to it isn't really all that blackhat if you ask me.
Stealing content is blackhat. Trapping browsers who click on your link is blackhat. Uploading porn and raunchy material is blackhat. Spamming comments is blackhat.
Shooting your own review videos, even if they are just Camtasia screen vids or vids with still pics in them is White Hat. Making "commercials" and uploading them is white hat.
Be creative, entertain, and inform. And then give a link, even if it's an affiliate link. Nothing blackhat about that.
This is NOT me but here is just an example someone with the right idea - and I'm sure BHW dudes will dig it.

Dude has an awesome idea that is getting him a ton of views. But isn't smart enough to put a live link that someone can click on in his description.
Still a cool idea. Also a great way to approach and meet some smokin hot broads. Seriously, find some girls, shoot some vids like this, link to your site - hell you might even get lucky and get laid.
There's a million ideas for YouTube. I only WISH YouTube had been around when I was in college. My buddies and I had our own little public access TV show we did for fun, would have been an amazing outlet for us to put some crazy videos on.
I don't think most people even realize how YouTube changes things. If you put out freakin' kickass content, you will get attention.
I bought a camera that ran me a little over $3k. I paid half cuz I split the cost with my buddy who's a teacher, but makes extra cash every summer shooting wedding videos and birthday parties and shit. Just using that camera I've easily made 10 times what I paid for it. Probably more like 20 times.
Creativity is key. But if you're not a creative person, hire it out. Maybe you have some friends who are funny and creative. You can find some talented people with real acting "training" who will work cheap. Put an ad on Craiglist if you live in a bigger city. You'll have a buttload of people interested most of the time.
Wow. This post is WAY too long. To sum it up, just pay attention and try to think a little differently. Really take a close look at YouTube and understand the potential it has.
No longer is video limited to just television - which was almost impossible to get on or very expensive to buy advertising on. YouTube and other sites are NOT. Pretty crazy stuff when you really think about it.
Browse around YouTube take a look at what other people are doing, search niches, pay attention. There is so much opportunity it's insane. Think big.
