Don't Bid Early. Bidding early will only increase other buyers' interest in this domain. The more bids for a particular domain, the more interested this auction has, the higher the price. It is better to use special tools that will bid 5 minutes before the end of the auction, just set the maximum acceptable price for a given domain.
Make bids in small increments. It makes no sense to overbid for a domain, you only need to outbid a competitor.
Analyze more topics to find domains. You can spend extra time analyzing related niches whose links would fit your site. So you can find more suitable domains and not overpay for expensive domains.
Don't waste money. There is no point in trying to win an auction if the bids for a domain are already inflated. You can just search for other domains.

That's just straight up false.
If you set a max bid, it outbids the current bid with as little as needed.
Have you ever purchased anything on TDNAM?
Sure doesn't sound like it.

Just check if the links are spammy or not - use ahrefs, or something tool to check the backlinks.

Moz spam score is just a stupid metric.
Mate check with web.archive if the site is clean. Check with ahrefs too for anchors.

Bid towards the end of the auction but don't bid above your budget. If the domain is a great one, then you must be ready to go on war with the big guys

please be careful with your bids at godaddy i have been taken for allot by running against bots ran by godaddy lover aka hugedomains.com unless the domain is being sold by someone and not godaddy themselves don't bother
