So the new update on Apple it a huge step towards privacy but for anyone who wants to run ads it seems like a noose, what do you guys think the future of ads will be? will apple build more on this update and focus more on privacy in the future? without tracking us how will the Zuck sustain himself, how long do you think before Samsung also introduce the same feature?

Don't forget that Facebook was the first to circumvent Safari's third-party cookie blocking, when they introduced it back in 2017.

I know, it's about the iOS app now, but FB might be able to figure something out now too, if they haven't already. Chinese apps found a workaround, although i'm not sure, if they will (be allowed to) use it:

This change fucks Google too, not just FB. Google needs to adapt too. Samsung won't/can't introduce the same until their devices run Android, which is owned by Google.

Apple and privacy is just a marketing technique. They don't really care about your data and all that sh*t.
100% agree with this. Apple has an incredible marketing techique which allow them to make the people want their shit.

Yh, they are kinda showing their customers they "love privacy" and thats why they are the "best", I mean I rather trust apple with my privacy than facebook even still...

And incredible hardware and software to go with that.

I don't deny their bad practices when it comes to upgradability and user serviceability though.

Of course, but the outcome is what's important.
It's similar to all these companies that pretend to care about the environment, when all their looking for is positive PR.

Right.

But at least Apple has a product. They make money from selling hardware.

Facebook only has your data to make money from.

So Apple can snub the data part to some extent.

I would have laughed at you a year back. Now? Not quite. Call me an Apple fanboy, I don't care haha. Since I bought the m1 mac, I have realised why people are crazy about apple products. Yes, not all of them are great (apple wheels huh), but some of them are simply outstanding. Man, never seen a computer so fast yet be so power efficient. Great design I must say.

P.S> FB can go fck off.. I don't care. :D

I fixed a Mac for a friend yesterday. Long time since I'd used one.

I maintain my opinion that they're overpriced and overhyped. Just my opinion tho.

But it sure is nice design and everything feels rounded. It's a nice user experience, no question about that.

Apple's not for me. But still I choose Apple over Google or FB any time if I have to.

Haha. Ok I guess. They are still giving a tough competition to those all in one machines in the range of $700. Macbooks? Overpriced perhaps... Mac mini? I don't see how it could be any cheaper. :P

For example, Apple pro servers. They're a beauty. But too pricey. You can assemble one yourself with same specs (that was until M1 I guess) for a fraction of the price. Perhaps not as good looking.

Oh yeah those things are kidney busting ones. Not gonna deny. Also, stupidly over Engineered. I don't recommend those atall. I recommend the entry level ones. For professionals, custom hardware is the best.

This is all a charade to deceive people and think apple cares about their users.

It’s hard to see when you’re inside the storm. Facebook knew about it for a very long time. Most probably, they have something waiting to come out.
You have to understand that this is a MASSIVE company as well, it’s not like it’s sitting around “hoping”( like us) something comes up.
Give them time. They’ll work around it.

Also, what facebook owns already cannot be taken away from them.

I'm using Apple devices since 2014 - for work purposes I have a Macbook. After 3.5 years the battery is dead, I cannot unplug that shit. There are several bugs too and the older versions (like 2015, 2017) can be really slow. I'm considering getting an HP Envy x360 - that's more powerful. The only problem for me is the Windows, since I hate Microsoft too. In addition to these, my iPhone has a factorial failure, sometimes a flaw appears on the screen. So the quality of the expensive products isn't as high as it should be.
On the other hand, I can agree with @bartosimpsonio who said, that Apple has a great UX and the products are nice. The overhype is also true.

Even from what you quoted, it's clear that I don't deny the upgradability and user serviceability issues with apple devices. Apple is always trying hard to make you buy their latest hardware stuff. A mac mini for example isn't that highly priced (compared to a macbook) and it does not matter to me if I have to exchange this hardware after 4 years perhaps. I have friends who have been using macs for more than 5 years, and did not have any issues whatsoever. I guess it varies user to user. Yes I wish the macs were more user serviceable. You probably can still change your macOS to linux (google it, lots of tutorials are available), but upgrading the hardware isn't easy (specially the new macs with everything soldered on board).

None of these big tech giants give a **** abut users privacy. Fb will either find a way to overcome this or there is already a backdoor understanding here and this is just a public hoax created by both of them.

Doesn't matter. Apple earns a shit ton of money from Chinese users (half of their mobile users are owning an iPhone)...and China blocked Facebook and Google, so it doesn't matter anyway.

And let's be honest on here: Who the fuck is using Facebook and is actually concerned about privacy? It's like going to McDonald's every day and be concerned about getting fat. It's a paradox. The business model of Facebook is to collect data of their users and to use it for advertising purposes etc.
