I am so damn pissed off right now. I spent ages building up this blog. It was showing in the search engines a few days ago, then I added a huge ping list and now I am gone. What would you all recommend now?

It's the G dance my friend....keep building GOOD backlinks and it should
come back.

wait, you mean the list of sites that WP pings (the ones you put in that box) were too many?

How many did you have?

I found a thread here with like 150 ping lists ....I put them in ...did a few posts and my blog dissapeared from Google. This sucks balls!

That has nothing to do with your ping list. It's just the infamous Google dance.

Please paste the ping lists here - we will tell you if it's good to keep or remove certain items from the ping lists.

as has been said by every person above,
it is Google dance.

I had the exact problem like this before.
and what I do is continue to update the content and continue to build backlinks to my site.

if you do a ping to a popular site like digg.com so google will quickly to crawl your link.

but if you do a ping on the site less popular, then google takes more time to crawl your link.

IMHO, if you do the ping on all your links on same time, then google will crawl with different time for each of your links, depending on how popular the site where your link is.

Good Luck
