What's happening at LocalBitcoins?

I got banned from locabitcoins. Apparently because I sent to a blacklisted wallet or website. I sent coins to Wasabi wallet and Rahakott back in the day. I guess the problem was Wasabi wallet. I believe was because Wasabi uses a p2p system. So if a flagged illegal/malicious transaction went trough one peer, maybe they associated all other transactions as malicious and built a ban list based on all addresses that this peer sent / received from, that could be huge. I believe that might be the issue.

Sounds like they ran a script to bulk ban accounts, too bad they didn't provide more info on what they were looking for.

Yes, I know people it happened to, its cause they transfer out of wallets at lbc to dark web marketplaces directly.

nice i moved from localbitcoins years ago. paxful was the hope, but they ended doing kyc for everyone. F them. Now only trade p2p

Thanks. That must be it then. I had no idea what wasabi was before your post. Thanks for that.

On reddit I was able to find some mentions of why people got banned. Some were literally buying junk from darknet directly from lbc...if you think about it lbc is right, they could be implicated in some heavy shit if allowed.

I had no idea about wasabi tho.

How do you trade P2P? Any specific place?

Why are they so cheap? If the characteristics are almost like the others

I trade with people I already know or that I have traded in the past. There are subreddits where people exchange crypto for fiat (or paypal or whatever), so I go with small amounts first and once there is trust, I go bigger. You can always get scammed, so trade with an amount you are good to go if the trade goes south.

That's interesting. Didn't know people traded via Reddit. Any subreddits you recommend?

Still dangerous, they can scam you at the 10 or 20 transaction

Localbitcoin banned me straight away after I submitted my proof, Guess they don't trust my IDs

That can happen anytime anywhere. Remember MtGox; operated for a long time, and suddenly, BOOM! disappeared with people's money.

localmonero is a scam site? someone on here recommended them, and I told someone else about them who wanted to know. Dammit.
oh no, not a scam site, but there are scammers everywhere. like accounts that suddenly start trading again after last transaction done years ago; those types of scams - bought/hacked accounts.
