Expired Domains for Linkbuilding

Hey BHW-Fam,

i've been in SEO since 10 years, earn well and never uses any linkbuilding method than organic link building.

Now I want to create a new project on new domain.

I've seen that there are some fivver sellers who offer an expired link of very big news sites (DR80+).

Is this an option to get some of the high authority links? Of couse I would also build some normal links.

Sure, there's scammers here, too, but sometimes you can get justice done to you if you get scammed on BHW instead of getting scammed on Fiverr

Yes you can consider expired domains rather than to build a new one.

sorry that I didn't answer your question. I got triggered when I saw Fiverr being mentioned, and since I don't like Fiverr anymore.... well, my judgement got clouded and I went into berserker mode or something

Anyway, to answer your question, as bogus as these metrics (DA in this case) are, they still matter for the retarded googlebot... indirectly if not otherwise. So yeah, getting a backlink from a DA 80+ website will increase your domain's authority, but not by much. And it definitely won't rank you on page 1 for competitive keywords based on this bogus metric alone. If you had the choice of paying $100 for such a backlink, or $20 per link for 5 backlinks from lesser authoritative (DA 30 or less) websites but which are relevant to your niche I would go with the 5 lesser authoritative backlinks.

Actually, since I'm at it, I remember having gotten a backlink from Reddit last year for one of my websites (the link has since gone) and back then this backlink alone has pushed one of the keywords from page 3 to page 2 (it was the self improvement niche). So, it did help, but not that much. Probably that if I had gotten more such backlinks I would have been able to rank, but I didn't have the money back then... or the means to acquire backlinks from other sites like Reddit (if there even are more of them to begin with)

thanks for the info. I only build projects in non competitive topics. For example I have a fearly new site in a music genre niche with 0 links, but already 15K google users per month. Maybe i'll test those expired domain linkbuilding on this domain. Of course i'll check the market here on BHW

15k per month with no backlinks? That's AWESOME! How long did it take you to get to this number, and how much content do you have on the website?

Make manual outreach or buy some pbns here.

but not in the us. I am from a european country. I think the google sandbox here are 3-6 months.

Yup, Is a good proposal of buying expired domain with high Domain Authority. Also, Branded domain that are old and popular are influential.
Rather than build some normal links, cause Domain age and its popularity does matter on ranking SERP.

avoid Fiverr links for your 1st tier,
some of them can be useful for 2nd (cheap pbns)

take a look at some services in the BHW marketplace,
many are trash, but there are plenty of golden ones

Let's say you see the expired domain and per Ahref, it has 1 or 2 links from high DA (e.g. Forbes, Business Insider) and nothing else.

Do you think it will be still good to go ahead with the expired domain redirect or its useless and overall backlinks matter as well.

I would try those fiverr gigs on a new web2.0 site and see what kind of links they provide. Then evaluate if they are worth it, then either link to your site from those web2.0 or order a gig to your site
