Suppose let's say I get do*foll*w links from niche forums, profile links or social bookmarking sites.

Is there any use of getting do*foll*w links if it's not getting indexed by google in SERP?

Experts kindly answer!

Have you tried to index these yourself?

I'm no expert, but I'll still share my opinion, just because...

As long as the googlebot discovers your backlink (by crawling the page where your backlink sits) I think it will take it into account when decides your rankings, no matter if the backlink is indexed or not.

Again, I don't know whether or not this is true (and if it isn't, someone correct me, but only with proof please), but it's what I feel it logical

If you're having issues indexing a link, you shouldn't build them in the first place. They are pointless, unnatural, and will get you penalized sooner or later. (just like all these 'high DA link tutorials' in BHW)

Yes that's what I'm confused about!

You can simply check your 'Links' tab in Search Console. This is all that matters.

you can use such links for tier 2 and above,
don't go for such links manually, use some software to build them and indexing software to get some good indexing rate

Let's go through those one by one:

"niche forums"
Can be useful if your goal is to drive lots of relevant traffic. In that case, DF/NF does not matter - like posts on social media.
Would you rather have a NF link on a post in a relevant Facebook group with 200k+ members, or a DF link on a page that has 10 visitors a month?

"profile links or social bookmarking sites"
Unlikely to harm your site, but also will not greatly benefit your site; so irrelevant whether DF or not.
The time/effort you spend on these links would be better used on manual outreach.

Yes that's right. Makes sense

no need to create such links that are not getting indexed. Better create links through guest posting and focus on indexation
