So I recently discovered someone has been running ads and then sending traffic to my domain.

The ads are not run by me and are not costing me anything. I'm not paying for them.

They are being set up on really random keywords like (made up example)

If a cow eats pink flowers does it produce pink milk

It's on super long, specific and strange keywords like that.

I don't think there is any harm BUT maybe this is some kind of method of an SEO or BlackHat attack? Not sure why anyone would do it so thought id ask here.

Somebody is secretly in love and wants you to start farming pink milk

Sorry for the laughing reaction on this serious post. That's.. that's... that's an weird keyword for sure. :p

Is somebody trying to neg seo you like that (and ready to burn his own money? super weird.)? Doesn't make any sense to seo noobs like me.. Hopefully, someone else will have a better idea.

It is possible somebody is warming up a google ads threshold account and using your site, as that is the sort of thing they do.

As other fellow members already said, I think your domain is used to warm up/pass Google AdWords billing thresholds.

Yeah I had to type in something random and that was the first random phrase that came to mind (it is a Friday) so was no risk on stepping on anyones toes here if I typed in something they might rank for lol! :)

Ah so warming up an account eh... Thanks for the replies.

OK suppose that makes sense it's been going for a few days on and off never long I don't think as I never see it when I go looking after the notification..

So, does the cow really produce pink milk?
Let's debate on that.

Did you see the actual ad? or how do you know it comes from ad?

Nope I not seen the ad.

It's been recorded in my Analytics as an advert and down as "paid traffic"

Both Semrush & Ahrefs picked up the advert as paid traffic - I do ZERO paid traffic so I know it was not from me. Semrush gave me the KWS and the copy of the ad as well.
