I've been looking at ways to increase my focus and concentration and came across nootropics on reddit. Seems interesting as a lot of people have had good experiences with it, but im still a bit skeptical.

Can anyone chip in?

In the past I have used Modafinil. From my experience, I would have really good focus for about 3 or 4 hours but then get a really bad crash afterwards. I stopped taking it when I decided the side effects weren't worth the temporary benefit.

Nowadays use Kratom that I put in my fruit smoothie and I love it. I would get an overall mood boost and I was able to concentrate better without any bad side effects. Personally I mostly use either the white or green Kratom. I definitely recommend doing some research first so you can decide whether or not it's right for you.

I didn't have crashing issues on moda, but I would get an irritating low pitch headache that was constantly there as long as the drug was in my system. I got used to it as it wasn't that bad, but it's an unfortunate side effect for me. Seems everyone different when it comes to moda.

Any external support system you use will have a side effect in the long/short run.

Nootropics is an inernet phenomenon that boomed after the movie Limitless came out. Modafinil works a bit - but it's not very helpful.

Instead, a combination of working out + deep sleep + good diet + working in a state of flow is a permanent fix to focus for long hours and enjoy your work.

It's not going to be easy to implement the above combo. Will take a month of dedication at the minimum to start seeing some real results.

Check out Dr.Huberman on YouTube. His podcasts could help you get the focus you are seeking.

Modafenil is very good for short term , but longterm it has lots of side effects

Thanks man, i'll take a look at him on youtube.

Going on runs in the morning is one thing that helps me keep focused during the day, but I still struggle. Getting in the flow state is something I love, but find it difficult to consistently achieve. 'Vinpocetine' is what was recommended to me by a very successful friend who swears by it and it helps him keep focused. But i'm always cautious of putting stuff in my body, but I might give it a try.

You know that kratom can give you withdrawal symptoms almost like heroin right?
It is one of the dumbest things to take regularly and an even stupider one to recommend...

Caffeine is technically the most used and studied nootropic in the world.. i'd stick with that before jumping onto other ones which have larger side effect profiles!

Unfortunately I feel absolutely 0 effects from caffeine lol

It takes lots of practice such as yoga, meditation, exercises, proper diet, good sleep, and lots of other things to train a mind to focus. If you are opt-out for an instant solution, you will regret it sooner or later.

Yup, the people selling them have beautiful effects like 1000% growth in bank account balance, 120% boost in confidence and 200% growth in being able to get more pussy (aka girls)

There are only 3 things that have dramatically increased my focus: fasting, dopamine fasting and meditation.

I don't believe in putting things inside myself in order to increase focus.

Agree, don't opt for a shortcut, that make thing easier for short term, but a headache for a long time to forever.

Dr.Huberman suggests a 15 seconds breathing technique that makes you altert instantly:

Most noots are pretty shit tbh.

The racetams (other than oxiracetam) are really fucking far from being significantly beneficial in any way. Piracetam is useless for productivity.

Vinpocetine does jack shit, so do the vast majority of noots.

Ive tried 90% of them, even up to the point of injecting cerebrolysin intramuscularly (it’s crap, don’t waste your time and super expensive too to add insult to injury).

Only ones I’ve found tangibly beneficial are modafinil, oxiracetam and semax, and semax can still be really hit and miss.

The vast majority are hyped dogshit in my experience with all sorts of amazing stories about their effects but even in super high doses most do nothing significant.

I hate nootropics, but if you really want to try, get some modafinil

I think the best option is to focus on foods and supplements that focus on neurogenesis - which is the creation of new brain cells. It's a far safer and better long-term solution than taking possibly illegal drugs.

For me the best use of nootropics, kratom, sarms all those RC Chen’s is to sell them lol.
I have some phenylpiracetam sitting in the cupboard I’ll try out but something like that I think is best used sparingly.

Some I’ve used and recommend highly like bpc157 thing for healing and recovery, sleep, etc.

Lose if my daily caffeine use I feel better and more
Energetic as well.

Dude, I've been taking kratom for years and never had any issues. Many of my friends take it and had only good experiences. While I know it may not be for everyone, it personally has been a game changer for me. Even in my comment I recommended that the OP does his research before trying it.
