Are Google Maps links good for Tier 2?

I’ve seen people building those links at tier 1 and ruining their site’s authority forever. But do these links work for tier 2? I mean, Google maps links have high DA.

After recent changes in Google's algo, I don't see many people focusing on such auto-generated links. They may boost the DA or DR, but rank-wise they may even drop your rankings.

I have a maps link for a highly contested, local niche that has essentially put me at the number 1 spot because of the map result that appears. Not sure why a Google product link would destroy a website either? Maybe they spammed it but I really would not have thought that this would be a negative effect at all.

I am pretty sure that OP is talking about the Google Map redirects which was recently popular to increase the DR/DA scheme.
If I'm correct OP, then I would advise you to not build these links even for tier 3 as they have been highly De-Valued after the patch. Those redirects don't provide any power now. Neither they did previously. It was just used to inflate the DA/DR.

Yes, exactly. I am talking about Google Map redirects. Sorry I didn't mention it in my original post.

Those links do boost DA for sure. I've seen people getting their DA from 0 to 50 in 4 weeks. If they do not have any ranking advantage, then I guess it's safe to build them?

Some clients pay well to get their links inserted on your site if it has a high DA.

It can be used by scammers to rise their "services" metric to scam backlinks, quest posts etc buyers.

Also, if you use these redirects as Tier1 links, it is possibility to loose all rankings and traffic. Tested on my own site.

That's why I advised to not use these as even Tier 3.
I have personally seen websites collapse due to these links. Also for the DA/DR method, I hear that it has been patched already by Ahrefs. And I am sure Moz would have followed the same suit.

Yes it will have high DA, but using those kind of links is not good for SEO, it just helps to manipulate metrics
