considering creating affiliate program

hey guys

ive created a store to sell my clothing i get from a dropship site.
im considering creating an affiliate program for my site offering maybem5-10% of the item sold.
my question is do you guys think it will be worth it for a clothing website and do any of you have experience in this field?

If you are able to pull a profit after each sale then I would go for it. Test out your commissions and find a sweet spot.

sounds like a plan...i currently make around 20%-30% profit on each sale so i reckon a 5-10% comission wouldnt be unreasonable...going to look into affiliate tracking programs now...cheers buddy

Are you asking would it be worth it for your site to gain extra backlinks from affiliates? (Yeah, of course...your own affiliate army )

Or are you asking is 5-10% worth it for affiliates? Percentage isnt everything. How long the cookie lasts for, and affiliate support like branded banners, contactablity etc also factor. Credibility too. How do I know you will pay me/not shave??

ok i think all things considered i should wait until the site is at least a few onths old at least then it should have gained credibility.
and as for the rest of it i will dig and delve further into the things you have mentioned there...
