Hi everyone, long time no see. I haven't really logged into BHW since I successfully ended my last journey. That was an SEO journey of getting a website to 25,000 page views per month.

Fast forward 4-5 months...and I'm in South East Asia.

As I am doing quarantine for 10 days straight, I figured out that I needed some goals. And I need to be held accountable for these goals. As I really don't want to come out of the hotel knowing that I have spent all my time on Netflix and Football Manager, I am starting this thread.

I don't have any specific goals, but I will record all my progress on the below-mentioned topics during these 10 days:

- Article writing for my websites. I plan to write A LOT during these upcoming days. At least a couple of articles every day.
- Other types of progress in regards to SEO (Link building, etc.)
- Workout (I brought a yoga mat + workout bands)
- Progress on Tinder. After all, a new life is waiting for me once this quarantine is over.

I'm not gonna go into details on which country I am in or where I'm headed next. But I'll promise to update the thread every day.

Best,

Your previous journey was inspiring

What goals have you setup on this SEO journey ?

nice to see you are rockign man :)

what are your goals?

Thank you guys!

Sorry for being unclear about which SEO projects I am working on. I have a handful Scandinavian websites that earn between 5-7k USD/month. So these will be the ones I will be writing for. :) As of the last project, I haven't touched that website since I ended the journey - and I will probably try to sell it whenever I got time for that.

But this isn't really a journey to see if my income can improve or anything - I'm just here to see if I can make some progress during this boring time.

That's great, man :)

What language are those websites in? (Real question, I'm curious)

Im new in this type of business. Could you give me some tips?

holy sheez,, do you know all those languages? haha thats sick man

Generally, speakers of the three largest Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian and Swedish) can read and speak each other's languages without great difficulty. This is especially true of Danish and Norwegian.[1] The primary obstacles to mutual comprehension are differences in pronunciation. Because Norway’s largest cities have received TV signals from Sweden’s two national TV channels since the early 1980s, Norwegians generally have a better grasp of Swedish than Swedes do of the Norwegian language because Sweden did not get Norwegian TV until decades later.

Danish speakers generally do not understand Norwegian as well as the extremely similar written norms would lead one to expect. Many Norwegians – especially in northern and western Norway – also have problems understanding Danish. According to a scientific study, of the three groups, Norwegians generally understand the other languages better than any other group, while Swedes understand the least.[2]

In general, Danish and Norwegian speakers will be able to understand the other's language after only a little instruction or exposure.[3]

Nice to know that. As a mere mortal it's hard to understand that. Thanks for the info

The first update comes tonight. Just woke up, had some coffee, and I am ready to work. :)

Im new in this type of business. Could you give me some tips?

1) You're not gonna see results within the first 6 months. None. And you have to work extremely hard every day to make your website as good as possible in this period of time. Don't check stats. Don't check income results. Just work super hard to publish super useful content every single f**** day. And results will come after 6-7 months.

2) If you are not sure about an article you've written: don't publish it. Make it better. Always read through the article you wrote with the question in mind: "Is this the absolute best resource online about this topic?".

If it's not, there's a huge chance it won't rank.

These are my two tips. 99 % of "SEO people" fail on these^^.

But what type of Viking are you? ;)

Det er vel bare èn type ekte viking - og det er oss nordmenn. ;)

I hope you won't limit the journey to only those 10 day quarantine days :)
Very interesting and will be following.

Its so tempting to get into regional lucrative niches but for non speaker it seems too much work to get it all right even with hired writers, probably worth to pursue one day.

Day 1 - sweating and Tindering

Below is an update on all three projects.

SEO work - 50 % satisfied

I'm not gonna lie: I slept horribly. I had a big allergy attack throughout the whole night. Running nose.

Slept maybe two hours or so.

But I managed to write and publish 3 articles in about 1000 words each. Typical info articles that will support one or more money articles.

I'm continuing on writing info articles after I've got a proper night's sleep - hope to at least publish 5 tomorrow.

Workout - 90 % satisfied

I started off with this Youtube video around 18:00. Oh darn, that gets your body started:

After that, I followed up with several workout exercises:

2 x 10 walking burpees
2 x 10 biceps drop on the bed with my own weight
1 x 20 push-ups
1 x 45 seconds plank
1 x 60 seconds plank with knees on the floor

PS! Gym nerds: I know. I'm probably not using the right terms to describe them. No need to comment on my lack of fitness knowledge. ;)

Tinder - 95 % satisfied

Matched with 7 girls, which was good. One of them was super cute and friendly - and I think I managed to arrange a date with her after quarantine by using a nice trick. PS! She is my best match so far in this town - so it's not a lie:

Now I'm gonna end the night by watching Erling Haaland hopefully destroy Eintracht Frankfurt. Then hopefully sleep for 8 hours before my daily temperature check at 08:00.

New update tomorrow. ;)

Yes, it's a lot of things to think about. Might write something about it when I got energy tomorrow.

You plan to outsource content ?

I do have a couple of writers as well as writing a lot myself.

Woke up at 4:00. Coffee in the cup and I'm ready to start to work.

I will try to sleep later during afternoon.

The reason why I wanted to give a proper answer is that I tried this. I am semi-decent in German and really wanted to try to duplicate one of my sites to the German market. It was easier said than done. In my head, I would just give the German translator a copy of my Scandinavian article. She would translate it - and I would publish it in German.

However, it wasn't that easy:

1) Competition research is super hard in a language you don't understand. In English/DK/NO/SE, I can straight away see not only which websites, but also WHAT TYPE OF WEBSITES that rank for a certain word.

2) Keyword research is a nightmare.

3) Finding suitable affiliate products on a platform you're not usually used to work was much harder than anticipated.

In other words: I gave up. Now I'm only dealing with markets where I know the language very well and can interpret search results as well as keywords.

What kind of sites are they ?

Information sites with a 50/50 distribution of info content and money content.

Day 2 - loads of content written, hard workout, and change of Tinder strategy

Again, I stay focused on building info content. ALL of my Scandinavian websites had an "all-time high" traffic number last month, which was super motivating. In order to keep riding that wave, I believe one of the best tricks is to keep pushing some info content. A lot of the info content will obviously have internal links pointing towards money content.

Workflow with SEO/Online marketing: 75 % satisfied

Website A:

- Published one article that was already written before. Formatting all done.
- Wrote one inspiration article that will probably get a lot of hits - already published.

Website B:

- Wrote and published an info article of about 1000 words. Top-quality.
- Wrote and published a nice info/affiliate article. Helping people solve a problem in five different ways - and one of them includes buying a cheap product. Will hopefully get some traffic to this one as well.

In regards to the way forward, I will start working on some money articles tomorrow. They usually take a longer time, but I hope to complete two of them by the end of the day.

Go, go, go!!!

Training - workout - 100 % satisfied

Felt super sore in my triceps and abs after yesterday. So I thought I would focus on legs, back, and biceps today.

Started off with this madness of a video:

...and continued with:

3 x 10 biceps curl with a fitness band
3 x 10 rowing exercise with a fitness band
5 x 3 squats
20 x 4 clap hands in front and on the back quickly

I'm so freaking done now. But tomorrow I'll do a 110 % workout on abs + biceps - and then take a workout free day on Tuesday. The pool parties are waiting for me on the other side of the quarantine blockade now - can't be lazy.

Tinder: 20 % satisfied?

10 new matches.

I had a word with a friend of mine about the strategy here. He said I am doing it all wrong. He was in quarantine two months ago and said you'd get tired of the conversations long before you're out of the hotel. And he's right. There's no way I have the interest or time to keep up with these matches - so I will freeze my Tinder project for at least 3-4 days, but probably just maintain the conversation with at least that one girl I think could be a match.

I was also told to try out "Badoo", which apparently is another dating app.

Until tomorrow,
best.

Hi guys, good morning.

Woke up at the perfect time today - jetlag is gone.

Today is gonna be a good and productive day.

The sales are quite slow over the last week (average 120-150 USD/day). However, I know it's because of the Easter holiday and it will pick up very soon.

To anyone reading this: please make the best out of your day. :) Be productive.
