Newbie question regarding backlinks

So I have set up my blog + 4-5 starting articles but I have 0 backlinks. The website is submitted to google search console and indexed but doesn't show in results for my keywords at all.
How do I continue? Do I start building backlinks or no backlinks and just focus on articles? And if so what are some free good backlinks I can start building myself for free, to begin with?
Hi, it's normal that your blog can't be founded on Google yet, since your blog is still new. You need to increase your site's domain authority to able to rank on the Google first page. The best thing to do is doing both sides creating new contents, and promote it at the same time

You can get a free backlink from QA site like: Quora, Yahoo Answer, Niche Forum. Also backlink from social media like Pinterest, Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook. You can do also blog commenting from other's blog by putting valuable comment. Ensure to install the Gravatar plugin so when someone clicks your profile on the comment box, it will send the traffic to your blog.

Nowadays its really hard to get top rankinks without backlinks so i recomend to create free backlinks at the same time. For every niche you can find tons of websites that want your guest posts. You can determine them by /write-for-us page.

Are there websites that let us post guest posts without paying them ?

Yeah, but sometimes you have to provide them with really high-quality content. So you should calculate your expenses for content creation cause common requirements are about 1000+ words of unique content.

@kleoz If your site is only one month old, the best thing that you can do is continue to build content. I have a new site that is barely 2 months old and with over 5000 products and over 10k words of content, it is still not ranking on the first page for anything.

Dare I say that this is normal, but it is. Google is trying to figure out if it can trust your site first and it won't let it's foot up from your site for at least 3-4 months. New sites are the worst because they take some time before you see rankings.

Keep building content in the meantime. Build up / out your social media channels. You can always pay for ads through Bing / Google or other social media platforms to get instant traffic. I would also go after guest posts as well. You also may want to think about a press release. There are options for instant traffic but as for "organic" traffic, that's going to take a while whether you like it or not.

We don't control the asset that is Google so we simply have to deal with it's rules and when it decides to play nice with our websites that we're building ourselves. Use this time to grow your site. Traffic and rankings will come, but you're going to have to be patient because that's how this works.
I agree with @bhcg101 if instant traffic is your need then social media is the option but mate, link building is a whole process which comes later in SEO. First create content which satisfies the intention of your website.

4-5 articles in a month
Your priories are not backlinks at all.

You should build more, quality articles.
Get alot more, maybe when you hit 20+
You can start getting social media pages for your sites
social media profiles links include but not limited to FB page/group, twitter, pinterest, linkedin reddit, just naming a few. There alot more :')

Wait until your site is around 3~5months old before you go gather more backlinks such as guest posts and such.

Remember, solid backgrounds = stable project.
The weaker your foundations are, the easier for the entire thing to crumble
