Hey, y'all.
I saw a lot of channels that post scary stories, but... What do they do?
They just take one or several images which are looped through the video, and plus a simple voice-over, that's all.

What I wanna do?

I'd like to take my video camera, go to the park or another place (maybe abandoned buildings, etc) at night and start filming.
To act out scenes with actors, with costumes and masks and etc...
I think a voice-over that reads a scary story + video "with something unpredictable" will be better than looped images, isn't it?
I already have a good mic and I can work in audio and video editors.


It's hard to explain everything that I want to do because my vocab is not good enough but if you guys have any advice, please leave a comment down below.

Hey this type of videos works but don't add ghost actors
Have seen some guys used this technique in there channel to grow audience - visiting abandoned houses at night time with camera ,nice microphone with a story about the building the video is kind of exploring haunted places in night
(always have team of ppl while doing this type)

That’s a little too much effort to go on something that might not be successful. So you should try what others do first before going all out on it.

Don't add scary ghosty stuff as you will be my competitor

People loves ghosts and scare stuff - that's a different niche what no-one is exploiting . DO IT, as for me works quite well - 80k subs in 3 months

When I watch those type of videos I have them play in the background as something to listen to and almost never bother to see what's going on in the video. My friend does exactly the same so I have feeling most people only care about listening to the audio and less about watching what's in the video.

Imo these videos are more like short audiobooks so they don't require the viewer to actually watch the video in order to understand what's going on. Even if you add more visual elements to your video I doubt it would make any difference since your viewer probably won't even see it since they most likely consume your video as an audiobook.

If you're trying to make it in this niche you need to focus on making as many videos as possible.

You can start a series like Ghost Hunters or something where some lead characters go to abandoned places to hunt ghosts. This will be super interesting instead of merging random places and random stories. You can write stories based on the location and add a fake research where your characters ask the bystanders about the spooky places and they tell scary incidents. This should use "The Blair Witch Project" formula.
