Who will beat Amazon?

I remember Jeff Bezos said in an interview "no company will live forever. Even Amazon will die some day" (these weren't his exact words but you get the point)

Assuming no government interference (meaning no antitrust stuff), can you make some educated guesses about how Amazon will end?
Who will defeat them and how?

No Amazon is too big to get defeated by another company directly, as soon as competition comes along they have the power, money and means to buy them and remove the threat.

The only way they get "beaten" is for another company in a totally difference space emerges and the expands into the same "space" as Amazon with a larger or similar war chest to compete. That's one of the only ways a business without an outside interference will beat them.

Amazon, Google etc. Are this eras version of Tobacco, Oil, Motor etc

The monopoly is there, and is established.
 
A company can only be bought by Amazon if they want to be bought by Amazon.

While Amazon doesn't do it as much as other companies they do get involved in playing the "Woke Game" and ban certain products and/or categories of products. There's no reason that they should be banning products that you can buy at other retail stores/sites, its just leaving money on the table.

Locate headquarters in more affordable areas. For U.S. locations Mississippi and Alabama would be a good choice, for Europe places like Romania and Bulgaria would be good.
 
Decentralized cloud infrastructure (see: Theta token, videocoin, storj, cardano, etc) will definitely steal some of AWS market share

Niche e-commerce is a growing threat to amazon's marketplace

Overall though, Amazon's here to stay.
 
Amazon will stay here for a long time. You can't overtake the monopoly that Amazon built sadly.
 
The end of Jeff Bezos in Amazon could be a starting point of the process. :)
 
It isn't only the competitors. Companies are usually brought down by shifts in technology. You also have to account for the expansion of the market.

You're literally witnessing this with your very eyes with cord-cutting, and cable companies.

Another example, Microsoft was the king of the tech hill. They largely still are in software, but they completely screwed up mobile and missed that boat.

This ceded ground to Apple and Google. But the technology market expanded widely enough to accommodate numerous tech leaders.

You already see Amazon with its own fleet of delivery vans. I imagine they'll soon offer package delivery services like UPS and FedEx.

Western Union used to be the leader in telegrams, but technology evolved.

Maybe Amazon will miss the boat on teleportation or replication, who knows? I don't think Amazon will be taken down by a competitor alone. Who knows, maybe they'll go the way of Bell South (split into a bunch of smaller companies only to converge back together under a new name)?

I do not foresee amazon losing to anyone . They’re at the top .
 
The only way i see to any company to beat amazon is to have an already established store such as Walmart to invest into transportation/storage and have a high rate comission for affiliates only then amazon can have a real competition.
Just think about it, if Walmart could have a 1 day delivery time in USA, and have lots of products on stock, lots of traffic driven to their products by affiliates.
Basically the only way to compete with them is to copy their business model and try to improve where they lost(such as comission rates for affiliates), most of the sites in my niche already moved out of amazon, most likely as a result of their comission cut in the last few years, so that is a strong point that any store who wants to compete with amazon can get ahead of them, their only concern should be the shipping/storage :)
 
The simple answer is NO

Because they have the moolah and are always innovating plus the amount of data they have gathered

"Niche e-commerce" - what do you mean?
 
A retail site that offers a place to purchase all legal products would be nice, with an auction part for vintage and used items.

I should be able to buy some adult intimate products, controversial books, WWII german officers sword, AK47, and a cool t-shirt of Bill Cosby from the same website since the products are all legal to buy here.
 
I personally think some historic acquisitions tend to happen in the following years that will beat Amazon for sure.

I also think humans need variety. lol.

Amazon will def. die
