I usually used to find a book that was published recently (2 months ) in my niche and had a BSR under 250k. This strategy worked for me in 2019.

You do not need to know any special technology skills to learn it. Must have knowledge amazon kdp and market.

this is such a huge mistake hubting niches its good but when you know how & you can never be sure its always kindbof guess so my advice to you choose 10 or more niches type the main kw in search bar try to analyze the results their cover titles colors font then tackl it with 50 book or something you can do then go to next niche after a while you'll see sales coming so you can make an informed decision well basically its like spaming but in a smart way also its very important to run ads if you see nich flooded with ads that means its competitive so be aware of this , i'm doing kdp for year & 4 month my fav month was the last month with 1800€ but with almost half of it in ad spend well im not really sure cus i do the total acos for all , so there are some books that are not advertized but honestly i'm kinda ok with this so far trying to learn ppc cus its very important

There isn't a single kind of niche, I isolated myself into. But here's an advice, books catering to young women often involving animals or cute girly stuff on the cover has brought me sales consistently.
This may sound counter intuitive but don't shy away from niches that are heavily saturated, one of my books has managed to rank in a highly saturated niche and still brings sales to this day with $0 in ad spend. Amazon algo can do wonders, if you focus on quality and have a clean, subtle design on the cover.
