Hardware wallets are the most safe for cryptocurrency. However, cloud wallets like Blockchain, coinbase is also safe if you're to keep decent level of security on those accounts.

How is a hardware wallet different from a software wallet, from the technical standpoint? I understand that it probably does not reveal the private key to the user, but it still is a private key. Especially with the new quantum computing, the private keys are not 100% safe anymore. Yes we don't see quantum computers in the market yet, but wait for another 20 years; I bet you will see atleast one brand.

Nothing is 100% secure. You'll give up the password to your wallet after a few hits to the knees with a hammer.

"You can't send from hardware wallet if not connected" - Really? the money is still there. You can't send doesn't mean somebody having the private key can't send. Its not like the money is taken off the network or something.

About the second point, yes. That's correct. This is why they are a bit more safer. In theory, you could get throwaway android phone and only use it for crypto... Or any other device like a rpi.

My point is, that it uses the same technology that a software wallet uses. It's not like they don't need a private key or something.

Nothing can be 100% safe but always try and minimise risk.
Enable 2FA, use unique password for wallet. Simple basic things like that.

You can't send doesn't mean somebody having the private key can't send.

Of course if someone have access to the private key have access to everything
but i didn't see someone hacked because they got his private key.
Only if your pc is hacked and they can see when you have your private key or you are dump and you entered your PK in another place
on the ledger for example no one can see the private key since it display on the ledger not on your pc.
so even if your pc is hacked they won't see the private key

Yes and No,I could say yes if you keep your secret words and I could say no sometimes it happens with blockchain giving error messages like dispatched password,it’s all risk mate.
