Ranking with Spun Content?

It can work but it depends on how good the articles is spun. The quality and sense of the article matters. I think automatic spinning is not a good idea but manual can work.

Yes it works. You can basically rank with lorem ipsum too (see the austin rynoplasty case).

spun, generated and translated content will always have their place within the SEO game,
in fact, i've made a copy of another website back in the summer and let it post every 15 minutes with barely spun content (30%++ plagiarism)
the h1 title is almost the same and using a free spinner
and here's what i've got so far
the website is ranking top for too many low volume kwds and in some cases even higher than the original website (it's an authority one with a lot of backlinks and brand name searches)
i even got some feature snippets in some cases which i didn't even with my main website
for the indexing, most of the posts weren't indexed at first (shown as indexed in GSC) but at current period, all got indexed at once (like within a week)
however, some of keywods/posts seems not working even if they're indexed and don't rank even in the top 100
but, as you can see, the average position is 20+- and i'm sure i can even get it better with some good backlinks
each of these articles contains the original post link (nofollow) at the bottom tho
overall, i can say that spun, translated (mix these 2 to get the best results) and archived (way back machine) content still have a place maybe at some side project (useful for some extra bucks), for PBNs and can even be used for the money site if taken carefully and edited manually with some good changes
ofc, it can be used for a serious long term project with solid investing as you can expect getting it hit by the next update and you will lose all the investments
in fact, we could make a common project here in ovh to make a case study, splitting the cost within a few members won't be that expensive and it can be really beneficial for all of the community

Throughout years I found translating content is enough. Just don't use google translator. Spinning is pointless at that point. The piece of content is 100% unique if you translate it and it's human readable.spun, generated and translated content will always have their place within the SEO game,

This might be good for some cheap virus-like PPI websites. Spam is going well along with spam. I'd go reckless and post every minute. But it will get penalized in the end, so the resources you spend on it must be minimal. Consider your time, money and CPU power, server costs. Even the time you spend to setup the bot.
Done that in the past and made a nice sum of money per day but keywords I posted for are banned now. When you type them in the google keyword planner, it won't show the search volume and say there is something wrong with it. Type weed or marijuana in the keyword planner and you will see.
