My friend got selected for this job in Dubai. He's from India. Company name is Arkan. Anyone have any idea about this Job? Are these safe? How's life there?

I have had a friend of mine completely regret his decision to work there (it was also through an agency). They even took his passport, and made him work like a slave. Please save your friend. Tell him not to go for it.

It is slave job dear,
I am from Philippines, and a lot of Filipinos take these jobs via agency thinking it will give them great pay.
They return after 5 years, no pay, only passport.
These security firms even got featured on local news here and CNN Asia as well.
The barracks of the workers looks like a jail cell, one toilet for 20-30 people per barracks, sometimes no water.

A few days ago I heard in the news here that similar things were done in Qatar to work on a football stadium for the World Cup.
People from India and other countries got called for a 'great job', yet many people never got paid, many people died and the cause was somehow 'sudden death', and their families never heard back from them again.

I lived there for 4 years I was a consultant civil engineer witnessed them deal with such positions like a slave...
No Racism comment I'm Arabic myself but gulf countries aren't good for such positions ... maybe if you are an engineer/programmer/doctor ... may live well there ...

I can confirm that even one of the professional jobs you mentioned those professionals are also treated very badly in middle east ! Bahrain is little different in that

my advice no, a lot of people had trouble there, not only poor or for work, i mean some millionaire people have moved their and they lost their money or life, full of scum, im arabic too but i dont suggest you to go there.
