Some Reddit marketing tips

• Your accounts will get banned doesn't matter the method.

• For the above reason, link and text spamming will result in the domain/text being flagged and future accounts posting them being banned instantly.
• An exception to the point above: Links/text commonly used by legitimate users will not get flagged. Example: twitter links are used for spamming very frequently and don't get flagged.
• They're willing to get a few false positives if the filter they add will catch a significant amount of spammers. Examples: They've flagged tor users doing several different things from commenting to posting links in the past.
• Many filters Reddit do is based on account age and karma. A young account posting a link to X site might get banned, but an aged one doesn't.
• Subreddit moderators can filter any kind of text and/or links. Spamming text/links will quickly stop working against an actively moderated subreddit whose moderators know how to use automod.
• Automod is a subreddit script that can automatically handle several moderation tasks.
• There is nothing subreddit moderators can do against watermarked images besides manually removing the posts: If you use an aged and karma farmed account to spam watermarked images, you're unstoppable until admins take care of you.
• Exception to the above: There are several reddit bots dedicated to detecting image reposts. Rotating or mirroring the images defeat these bots.
• Another exception: Very few subreddits run OCR bots to detect watermarks: they can be defeated by doing anti-ocr watermarks. But it's better to just ignore them and use clear readable text for better conversion.
• Reddit admins CAN flag images and can detect them mirrored OR rotated at a small angle, you will have to change things up when your accounts get caught.
• Reddit admins can't detect watermarks in images it seems, they likely don't OCR them currently.
• An easy and straightforward way to spam reddit is to buy a bunch of domains with cheap tlds and rotate them once they get flagged. Reddit is reluctant to flag entire tlds, but eventually they will do it once they get abused enough. Example: .xyz links are currently flagged as spam automatically, but .club works.
• Scraping reddit usernames: Scrape the first few pages of posts from a subreddit and get the users from the comments.
• Use the subreddit FreeKarma4U to farm small amounts of karma. For large amounts do image reposts on popular subreddits.
• You will have to create your own bot as anything public will be likely fingerprinted and result in your accounts getting banned automatically and you will be relying on someone else to update the bot, which can take days/weeks.
• When writing your bot, avoid praw of course.

Yeah they are aimed at spam and avoiding their autoban filters. But usually if your accounts aren't getting banned then you're not advertising enough.

I want to work with reddit but I think the biggest problem from me is that I do not have very good English. The members there can easily spot that which will affect conversions.

I am not getting banned because I don't spam.
From my point of view, spamming is spending to many resources (bot, proxies, accounts, etc) compared to half decent marketing with 1-2 accounts.

Not to mention that 90% of the spam is really dumb. But that is another story.
I feel bad when I have to ban an account made 7-8 years ago... for spamming. Not to mention that it is not hard to catch on the dumb ones since 95% of them trigger the automod. If you have decent communities that will report the posts that manage to get on the sub, it is almost hands off moderation.

But you're right in that if you don't get caught it's overall better long term. Spamming is just much easier to get started with and to do consistently.

Answering your question. It's easier for them to fingerprint a public bot than a private one, but if the developer of the public bot is active they will fix it quickly.

Answering your question. It's easier for them to fingerprint a public bot than a private one, but if the developer of the public bot is active they will fix it quickly.

Incredibly underrated comment, guys there is a difference between aggressive marketing and mass spamming, learn to be REALLY aggressive avoid spam at all cost.... the fact that OP is talking about buying different domains to spam shows you how he is doing things in the wrong way.... you can create text post WITH anchor texts and your domain will never be banned, just a thought, but as @mindmaster has explained 90% of the spam is really, really dumb I have some accounts that the communities KNOW they are bots and they NOT only allow them to post BUT share those post in other communities.... just a thought.

I am working with another forum member in a MASSIVE project to really hit reddit, but is not just brainless spam.. it has many, many layers and details to be able to scale, good luck to all.

"Your domain will never be banned" Until admins decide to ban it lol, keep in mind the can ban text too not just links.

You can work several hyper complex methods with thousands of layers, but simple domain cycling using cheap tlds and pointing to a smartlink can easily make $30~$50 a day depending on how many bots you can field.
