Ezoic Premium - Dodgy? Lets discuss

So a few months ago I got "selected" for Ezoic premium.

It sounded great - promised extra ad revenue and initially it did look good, but earnings slowly trailed off, on both the premium and standard earnings.

It got to the point, that taking into account tax, it wasn't making money - even though the program auto downgraded me, still wasn't worth it, and I waited two months to see if there was recovery.

Throughout this, my traffic had been growing considerably.

I've now cancelled, and the premium has stopped for a week. My earnings have miraculously gone up to the point my standard earnings are the same as when it was standard + premium.

I might be wrong, it might not be the case for everyone, it might be a massive coincidence - but something feels really off.

What excuse did they tell you for the issue?

They didn't, I haven't brought it up.

When I was on premium I queried how much profit I was actually making, when tax included etc, and they had no real answer...

I had 3 sites on Ezoic, all using premium. 2 sites were earning decent money, but a 3rd site was only bringing in $2 each day. That included premium.

After disagreeing with them about site speed and too many adverts I removed 2 sites from Ezoic completely and canceled Premium.

Site speed significantly improved... even with Adsense.

Remember the 3rd site? It was bringing in $2 each day... well that shot up to $8-$10 each day ONLY FOR PREMIUM... non-premium advert revenue remained the same.

That carried on through the final 10 days of the premium contract.

Shockingly, premium earned more than it cost, all because of that last 10-day sprint.

I guess they were desperate to show that it always earns more than it costs... seemed a bit manipulated to me.

Their customer success team disagreed, of course

I do eventually want to go to Mediavine, but not quite at the 50k required traffic levels yet....

Same here - I am stuttering towards the traffic requirements for Mediavine. I lost revenue moving from Ezoic on one site, but the other is making a bit more each day with Adsense.

Hopefully, the increased site speed improves rankings to push me over the 50k and this is short term pain for long term gain

Same stuff. But i noticed that revenue droped x2 after 1 January I don't know recovered or not, I left ezoic because of site speed.

Depends on your website niche, traffic country origin, user based each ad management company is NOT equal...so without knowing website and niche hard to tell

I own a manga aggregator website and have been working with a company similar to Ezoic, They doubled my earning for 2 weeks then it dropped, to the point that i was making less then before when i asked them they said that due to adult/shocking content on your website the bids are not coming through now :/ So it might be same with ezoic what kind of site you have ?

A different kind of site, it's in the home niche this particular one.

It's not about the niche or the content, it's more the recovery.

So on Premium I was making a combined $9 to 12 a day. It's been a little while now since I removed it and I'd safely say it's pretty much not dropped at all, the "premium" earnings, I've just got with the normal service.

I think it would be good if they shared more information about the premium program from the perspective of the advertisers.

Such as what options they give them. For example, can they choose the sites to display their ads on? Or maybe the "premium" is really a thing only in certain periods of the year, when many bidders compete for the ad slots, and the "premium advertisers" are somehow guaranteed to get them with certain CPM?
Such information should help you understand the strange patterns you've seen on your websites...

It may be one big scam though, just to extract more money from the publishers

To me it just feels oddly convenient that no matter what package you choose, I altered between two, you seem to earn just slightly over what you pay for that - when you look at the premium report anyway.

I had a couple of great months in the summer, due to the seasonality with some of my blogs, and the premium earnings didn't seem to reflect the uplift.

Again, I don't know, was just my experience with it, and might be purely a fluke.
