There are great tips in the article for improving from a good base, but I would not say it's a full recovery since this site had an explosive weird growth in feb-march 20 which was regulated with the update (which made the update pretty solid in this case)



It would be interesting to know what made them surge that way (double the clicks in almost 2 months).

I ,personally, see no hit and no recovery. A big leap and then getting back to normal in May. After that (labeled as recovery), I only see natural growth.

There is no penalty and no recovery there, its just the usual SEO BS
The jump before may is normal, often google rolls out a smaller update before a core update and a lot of sites start getting a lot of traffic than 2 weeks later it fells down.
I want to see a case study with a site that has been decimated by an algo update and not taht has minimal fluctuations

One of my sites has been decimated by December algo, it has been ranking for a lot of kw's in the first position, after the algo all kw's dropped and I am getting an amazing 20 clicks from google. On the otehr hand smaller search engines which also use google still send me a lot of traffic.

My question is how does a site that has been ranking well in a niche suddenly disappear from teh entire niche?

Got this from his newsletter. It's really impressive. The area I still find hard to optimize my sites for is EAT. Some niches it's plain easy, for others it's usually unclear.

Furthermore, I feel the growth he got from this client's website had to do with content optimization(search intent improvements) as well as the backlink clean up he did than EAT.
I might ne wrong anyway, but I love his case studies they're usually insightful.
