I got a few Tezos the other day, then I staked them. Then I got a few Cardano, and I staked them. Exodus wallet.

Then I got some more tezos and some more cardano, and went to stake the rest. But as far as I can see, the new ones I got are automatically staked.

But are they? I don't wanna sit here 6 months from now to realize that I was supposed to do something to stake the rest.

I don`t use these 2 coins but I am 90% sure you need to delegate them manually.

I staked them manually the first time around.

By the way, since I'm on the topic, it seems the first time when a wallet stakes cardano it's charged a small processing fee + 2 Cardano coins. When I staked my Cardano I lost the processing fee like I was informed on Exodus, but I got pissed off that I had 2 coins less than I previously had.

Not that I lost the coins, but that I wasn't informed about it. I HATE hidden fees.

But I'm a noob, so I thought maybe when you stake a coin they "take" some coins from you for the staking, and then give it back later or something. But then I looked into it and it seems that the first time a wallet stakes Cardano it's charged 2 coins.

When I staked Tezos I just got charged the small processing fee, nothing else...

So anyway, well, I don't see a way to delegate manually or anything.

See? I can Claim or Unstake. There's really no other option.

Okay, some googling never hurt nobody.

We have this - https://support.exodus.com/article/1498-cardano-staking-faq#choose-amount-and-aspend

Can I choose the amount I want to stake and is my balance spendable while it's staked?

When you stake your ADA, you are actually staking your Cardano address. This means you can't choose how much to delegate to the pool. It is all of your Cardano balance or nothing since you are staking your address to the pool. You can still perform normal transactions whilst your ADA is staked. When it is time to receive your rewards, a snapshot will be taken and your current balance at that time will be used to calculate your reward.

And we have this - https://support.exodus.com/article/1300-tezos-staking-faq

What actually happens when I Stake my Tezos?

In order to stake your tokens, what you are really doing is delegating your XTZ address (and the tokens your address holds) to a so-called "baker". The Tezos bakers validate and approve transactions on the Tezos blockchain. The more tokens that are delegated to them, the more transactions they get to validate and the more powerful they become. By delegating your tokens to them, you basically "vote" for and signal your trust in them.

So I guess I have my answers. All good. Cheers :)
