We need a chess club

Climbing partner got me back into playing a couple of weeks ago. Such a damn addictive game.

Once I'm done today I'm away to practice my London opening.

First one I'm really trying but I like the look of it. I've just been opening E4 and just trying to develop the middle without a real plan. Picked up the GothamChess course and his first thing was basically "Pick a fucking opening and stick to it."
You should really watch his vienna gambit video

I always prioritize my knights to be out first and secured - then it's all hell let loose afterwards

I had this approach until my friend used the fried liver attack two games in a row and I couldn't remember the right response. Fucking brutal.

I think I've seen him show that one but I figure I'd start with getting one I could rely on and the London looks fun.

Try the English opening - a pretty solid one, and also you don't see it that often. When you get used to it you'll find yourself in familiar tricky situations while your opponent won't be as familiar and can make pretty stupid mistakes :D
