Is buying Bitcoin right now even worth it?

If yes what is the best platform to store your bitcoins? (I've heard of Coinbase and Blockchain)
I want also to invest in different coins and hold for atleast 10 years.

Thankyou!

I was asking myself "is buying bitcoin worth right now worth?" at $50, $100, $200, $1k, $5k price

Yeah, in my opinion on the long term basis it's definitely worth it.

If it's funding you don't need and are prepared for a rollercoaster ride, then why not?

Not financial advice, but I read somewhere that there are billions of dollars in institutional money just waiting to invest (obviously there has already been billions in institutional money invested), but seeking clarity from the SEC. I personally think there will be a huge dip coming in the next year or so, but I don't think it ever goes below $20K again. I'm buying small amounts at every price.

Yes, Buy and forget vault for 10 years or more.
And the money invested as well :D. Don't understand why are ppl so confident in giving an answer for something which is not sure. Tell us, what else is going to happen in the next 10 years.:p

Using coinbase would be the worst decision you could make, except if you love very high fees.

Websites like those might not be around in 10 years. You never know. Try to keep your BTC in private wallets. That means you will have a passphrase or a seed (some words in text format) that unlocks your coins. Put them in a safe and your are good to forget them for 10 years.

For short / medium term, those websites are good. They can also work long term, but only if you constantly follow the space and what news goes around.

Hi, buying bitcoin should not be in your list if you are not prepared for a rollercoaster ride. Try to understand the market first. Bitcoin's blockchain technology is created for decentralised spending but then the feds took hold of it because of it's illegal use in the black market, they created ways to trace the back then untraceable transactions. Right now the value of bitcoin is purely speculative because of the involvement of large institutions, also you need to consider it's market cap, where when all the bitcoin had been mined the value will probably skyrocket or stays the same. You need to understand what's driving the market, why Bitcoin has such value. Try researching on other cryptocurrencies too, what is their use in the future etc. I'm sure that there will be something like bitcoin waiting to happen on altcoins.
Also, a platform like coinbase, binance, robinhood etc. Is not good for storing your cryptocurrency, as you said it, it is a platform and is only good for trading. A money in the bank is not your money until you widthraw it. Same goes for these platforms, get a cryptowallet in this way you hold your own cryptocurrency.

Set a budget you are not afraid to lose and buy it.

One thing that I have learnt from stock market, never try to time the market. Market is way smarter than you and you cannot predict it's future. Every time is right time to invest. But donot invest all of your money at once.

If you believe it’s going to go up in value. Yes.
Personally I think it’s heading only one direction. Towards the sun. But that’s just my personal opinion.

it is worth it if you are going to hold on to it for a few years

if you intend to buy today and sell in a month, I don't think it's worth it

Less than 50K (down from 58K) as we speak, so it's a short discount for now :D
